The history of Quota System in Sindh revealed by Javed Choudary (Courtesy Express News)

Love your response. These Sindhi nationalists need to introspect and realize that it's their own Sindhi leaders and mentality that is keeping them back. Why does it look like you've gone back to the Stone age when you go to interior Sindh? Shithole if there ever was one.
This isnt a Sindhi nationalist but some wannabe son-of-the-soil Punjabi descendant UK resident with some personal issue with the Indian migrants to Pakistan.. while sitting outside and disconnected with Pakistan in a land that rightfully belongs to saxons.
Such background needs highlighting especially when blatant racism is involved.

Oh I see. Must be one of those "we are racially Iranic Turks from the Indus Valley" fools.

Go check Interior Sindh and their Life style , and compare them with Middle class Urdu speaking people .. Yes and not just to Sindhis , Urdu speaking people bring Civility to All of Pakistani's , no wonder most of ethnicity in Pakistan despite hating Urdu speaking people but go to extended lengths to marry their daughters to Urdu speaking guys .
I thoroughly dispute this and this is racist as well. Sindhis have a long educated and cultured history as well, they embraced Pakistan more than other provinces. Some of the earliest proponents of Pakistan had their roots in Sindh.. so we cannot call one narrative racist while condoning another racist view.

Urdu- speakers have a deep rooted racism in their creed as well and have had their aristocratic origins stuck into their heads.

Call it racist or whatever but without Karachi, Sindh is nothing. Urdu speaking people gave Sindhis a reason to be proud of Karachi. The rest of the province is a shithole, that only spawned self serving traitors like Bhutto and Benazir.

Unfortunately... there is no doubting his prowess with certain subjects, but that doesn’t absolve you of being a bigot and expressing racial superiority.

The best demonstration of false racial superiority can be seen during the 71 war.. and even prior to that during Ayub Khan’s attempt to change Karachi demographics through Gohar Ayub’s tribal “invasion” campaign.. where 5 foot biharis beat the heck out of 6 foot “martial race” Pathan transporters and threw them out of central Karachi.

It is this exact diseased attitude that led to 71, and unless checked will eventually lead to the destruction of Pakistan.. which Allah is likely to let happen because he doesn’t allow injustice to florish.

If there is any true concept of Islamic teachings, then any ideals of racial superiority or bigotry have no place in society. Be it ethnicities, color of skin(desiring fair skinned spouses) .. or castes(Rajput or Khattaks) and creeds(syeds or otherwise)

Question is who forced it on us ? We did not , until and unless we were pushed from the mainstream Pakistan's society and culture which by most refused to accept Migrants, so we make our own and we did it in a way than later all those so called Sons of Soil had to come to us for business and rozi roti and beti damaad .
You can call it racism all you want but truth is Urdu speaking people are one who are easily adjusted in all ethnicities while rest of them struggle ( not talking about Phuppu or uncle Isolated cases ) . Karachi is prime example how openly we accepted all ethnicity while rest of the major cities are widely Punjabi , Baloch and Pashtoon . I have noticed that in my trip to Pakistan Capital , Lahore , KPK etc .

Yes.. but that doesn’t make it right.
One can have the chicken and the egg argument or change this country.

I have lived in 3 provinces, and the key differentiator to racism is exposure and education.
Society cannot be fixed with the application of either on its own.

Wow I didn't know about this Ayub Khan funda. I knew about the post election rally in 1965 meant to smite the Muhajirs or the "Muhajiroons" as they called us. Seems like the seed were sown right from the beginning.

I never called it right, I am just saying this is the reality on ground , all that Patriotism and unity people talk on PDF remains in PDF but not in real life, and we see it time to time , so we are not accepting each other , hell bent on proving that our Race is better , if this is how everyone else do it so why its wrong when we do it ? everyone allow to be proud of their race and culture while if we do than somehow we become RACISTS ?

Though there was another factor in 71. One of ideology. East Pakistan was left leaning through and through. Almost Marxist. And West Pakistan was anti communist right leaning Mccarthyist. Go back to the 1951 Rawalpindi conspiracy. Mujib was self serving and found an ally in another socialist, Indira Gandhi.

This is not to absolve us of the step child behaviour we doled out to East Pakistan.

That has to do with British policies and can be said of Pakistani state treatment of Balochistan or FATA..
Just because Urdu-speaking migrants had a higher education percentage due to the presence of Aligarh and contributed more to intial bureucratic setup and state institutions.. doesn’t give them the right to claim superiority today.

Bhutto’s mantra extended beyond Sindh and it all has to do with feudalism that prevails in the lands encompassing Pakistan and not in the central Indian states. Finally, feudalism was allowed to exist in Pakistan which is 70% of the reason for our ills.

There is a thin line between being proud of your culture and thinking it superior.

You need to see how meagerly Urdu speaking people live. 75% belong to the middle class. Safed posh in true meaning of the word. But why are we always painted with this brush of being wealthy and privileged? We lost everything in 47 and made ourselves from scratch. Call it our entrepreneurial spirit. Call it our emphasis on education. I see some semblance of the Jews and Parsis in us. Prospered due to our spirit and against all odds.

Not my fault Sindhi and Balochi feudals don't give importance to these values and prefer a life of decadence and rishwat khori. Their attitude trickles down to the common man in those provinces.

The truth is that Pakistan is divided along two core socio-economic lines:

1. haves
2. have-nots

It's trite, but it makes sense of you think about it.

The situation most privileged muhajirs from Day 1 hasn't changed. Neither has it for the privileged Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashtun, etc. When we couldn't find work in Pakistan, we had the means to move to other places, and get another citizenship.

That is privilege. 99% of Pakistanis (of all ethnic backgrounds) do not have that, so when the economy goes deeper into crap, they're stuck.

Yes, we muhajirs lost potential seats to the quota system, okay, but I know Punjabi guys who lost land to ZAB, etc. But we're all in Canada, doing well. Some are of honest means, others are not, but it doesn't change the fact that 99% of Pakistanis are stuck regardless.

The sad thing is that the 99% in Pakistan are insanely naive, well-meaning and also short-cut-minded (due to the exhaustion living without means in Pakistan) that it's very easy for the privileged (of all stripes) to exploit them.

As a result, the 99% never developed their own leadership, they're rudderless.

So, if our selfish privileged class decide to break-up Pakistan, they'll (sadly) have the men and women to do it, easily. It takes one man to loose his cool and an ill-executed Army crackdown to do it.

The history is littered with poor leadership.. and Ayub Khan is directly responsible along with racist Brown-sahib bureaucrats(of which Urdu-speakers were a majority of) and feudalism (of which Punjabis hold majority of) who led to the marginalization of Bengalis beyond repair.
That formula was tried again with Karachi except there isn’t an India to land forces.. Balochistan(where there isn’t enough of them), and today in KP where the danger is real.
It is also applied to South Punjab to an extent as well. All of this is through the outwardly hostile but internally “alliance of interests” feudal lords of Punjab and Sindh who would lose power if these conflicts do not exist. Look at MQM, at the end its struggling because an alternative Party captured the imagination of the educated in Karachi.
Who saw a better alternative because their education and exposure allowed them to see it.

Though if we're being fair, 5 of the prime ministers/ presidents before Ayub were Bengali. Bengali people are way too nationalistic to be browbeaten into submission. Our leaders never realized this. We needed to use a little more carrot and a little less stick with them.
