loooool. you really don't understand aircraft structures. iron rusts....so which part of the airframe is made of iron and paint adds weight and on an airframe that's a lot of weight.

JF-17 still has a long way to go. Don't take my word from it....but from other F-16 pilots who did their checkouts on the JF-17 (including a former DG PAC Kamra)....it will still take time.

If you are going to count creature comforts, such as a Western, feminine voice announcing impending doom, then yes, Thunder and J-10 have along way to catch up. But in terms of pure performance in war, they are potent machines and against any block of F-16 the outcome will depend on pilot skills. The latest blocks of Viper have the radar advantage for now, but once AESA arrives for Thunder and J-10, they will be head to head. Insha Allah.

Brother China is still a beginer in the field of EW suites specially jamming capabilities ... here f16 is in the same category as of rafael whereas thunder is in category of migs ... there is a reason india is so afraid of f16s despite of having much bigger force mkis they went for rafaels as they know f16s russians ew suites are nothing in comparision to vipers

Well---what it comes down to then---that it was a poor decision to have to completely depend on he JF17---.

It should have been carried along on the side while having taken the F16/M2K/Rafale option in 2002.

Here's the thing. Thunder is a solution to a very specific problem: SU-30 MKI and it's BVR capability. It is optimized for BVR engagements against it and PAF has had all of the past decade to perform this optimization. Once F-16s get finalized for India, make no mistakes PAF will create an appropriate solution. What people don't see is that Thunder is a base platform that can be configured against the relevant threat.

Note I myself agree that latest block Vipers have a radar advantage. This will be offset, Insha Allah, by KLJ7A. The only other aspect is stealth features on Block 3 and as you already know, I am having an absolutely loathesome discussion on the other thread with an absolutely loathesome character named CookieMonster.

But remember, Block 3 is now being optimized against Rafale, so Vipers should be a piece of cake for Block 3.

IAF uses Israeli EW suites on MKIs and they are second to none in comparable aircrafts.
