Of an Al Qaeda commander in Miranshah? If tribals do not support terrorists then why is he even there? In the picture, the people do not seem to mind his presence at all.

he WAS there to kill Pakistanis and create more reasons for weilding NATO including your country and US propaganda resulting in more weapon markets for you guys around the world.

:pop:

BTW whats his name when he was snapped ;)

now dont call me al-qaeda commander if you see me with a AK 47 in my hands in case Pakistan wins the Cricket WC

Leeme try to help you in your conquest for truth pyromagnet.

The tribals can be compared to the Texans in regard of their love for the guns. The tribals have been warriors for ages and its a custom to keep a weapon if you are a man. It is not to harm anybody but to demonstrate their cultural affiliation with the tribes. They have lashkars much like how the states in the American union are allowed to maintain a well equipped militia under the American constitution. The Pakistani state did not try to de weaponize the area because for the better part of the history these Tribals have used their weapons in the interest of Pakistan rather than against it.

Why do Tribals seem to be immune or accepting of the extremists?

This phenomenon can be compared with how a Colombian drug lord commands loyalty from the people that he lives among. The failure of the Pakistani state in developing a srong social fabric in FATA has given space to other elements to rise and try to assert their authority. The Taliban promise the people security and prosperity as opposed to Drone attacks and silence and inaction of the Pakistani government to curb the attacks. The tribals support the extremists out of human necessity rather than ideology, and even then not all tribals do it.

.
About the part that are there terrorists in FATA, well yes there are but that is not the only place. In every country there are society there are miscreants who oppose the law and cerate trouble. If there are a couple of gangsters i your neighborhood, will you blow up the whole neighborhood or try to get the people on your side and isolate the gangsters? The extremists in FATA are in a very small minority, and most of them are reactionaries who have turned violent because they or their families were part of the Collateral damage. There are very few people in FATA who are ideologically motivated and carry out their activities because they have an agenda. Most of the people are just tired of being the collateral damage and have decided to take things in their own hand.

The recent drone attack is a perfect example of hat. A drone strike was carried out on a gathering where people were present to discuss a dispute over mining rights from a specific area. There were no terrorists or extremists present there but they were targeted and everyone was killed. Now some people have said that they will take this matter to the International court of justice while others have vowed to take revenge and proclaimed that Enough is Enough. Now there were not any extremists there but surely now there will be reactionaries who will take up arms to defend themselves, and they wil be manipulated by the Taliban.

because u dont agree with somebody doesnt mean u should accuse them of being indians or afghans.

the great majority of pakistani pathans are loyal towards pakistan and will always put pakistan before afghanistan - no doubt about that.

but pashtun in general do dislike punjabis and look down on punjabis they conisder punjabis inferior. why is that hard for some punjabis like you and omar1984 to digest?

Lol I'm not even Punjabi, so your whole argument just failed. And yes I will stick by my statement because I've only heard afghans make such retarded statements like that. And if even if afghans or some Pakistani Pathans make such racist statements doesnt mean its okay and we should "digest" it. Maybe you can digest it and are obviously trying to justify it but its still racism

.
Yes, I am completely sincere in my questions. I find it funny how people here reply to me in a hysterical manner yet when I reply back, I am viewed suspiciously, as if I want to cause trouble or something.

i havent heard of any such thing....there are jokes about Punjabis, like Punjabi or Sindhi or Baloch have jokes on Pathans...it's all in fun. There is no suspicion, i never observed anything. Neither in academic environment or on the street.

to be honest, nowdays it may be fishy when ANYONE from FATA observes people who are unfamiliar. Suspicion is at its peak for outsiders (i.e. those not from the autonomous areas --everybody knows everybody there). That is not because of racism or intolerance to outsiders; that is due purely because the security situation has caused some people to be extra vigilant. Those brave enough to report suspicious people do that. Some do not, in fear of retaliation

nobody ever talks about the innocent law abiding tribesmen who report suspicious militant elements; next day they end up dead with notes stabbed on their body accusing them of being ''american spies''

I am just someone who is curious of these questions. The only solution to your worries is to calm down and take a deep breath because I am not here to cause trouble and you are only causing yourself stress and paranoia.

you fail to convince....but anyways, lets move on

Your last concern about being FATA full of the extremists and people crossing into Afghanistan from Pakistan also holds no real value. Here's why.

Look up the population density in North Waziristan or the whole of FATA and then compare it with Afghanistan. Pakistan controls almost 90% of the area in its Tribal belt while almost 90% of Afghanistan is not in control of the Allied forces. Why would Taliban want to settle or operate from NW or FATA when they have much more strategic liberty at their disposal in Afghanistan? All of this talk about Pakistan being the hub of all the extremism is just a convenient excuse to make Pakistan the scapegoat and find a somewhat honorable way to exit Afghanistan. In short, the Allied forces failed because Pakistan did not do what it was supposed to and not because the Allied forces could not occupy 90 % of the Afghan territory. Pakistan even suggested to erect an electric fence on the border to stop the movement of extremists which was vehemently opposed by the Afghan government. Go figure.

Hey Zolfiqar did you hear the new joke :D wo pepsi wala bacha jo kehta ha mujhey bhee sath le chalo

.
there are plenty of jokes about Punjabi's too, and most of them are damn funny, if you want to know about Pakistan - it is like a family with 5 siblings - sometimes dysfunctional, occasionally will have arguments, very loving also. It is what makes this country and it's people - the most beautiful on Earth.

.
actually yes -- head of US DHS was in Pakistan receiving strong request from Pakistan for help on electrifying most (if not all) of the rugged, restive border. It was the Afghan govt only who had reservations.

it's a much more effective method than using landmines --which i have personally seen what kind of destruction to a human body they can inflict.

i guess too much security would mean that price of heroin would skyrocket, and we all know the Karzai govt. would not be happy about that fact. 'They'd lose money, and their farmers would begin to fume.
