Taiwan is more Chinese than PRC China?

The ROC on the mainland was not a success to say the very least. But that's all behind us now and China, Taiwan, Hongkong and Macau must look forward. And cooperate for the future.

This thread is created to split Chinese members from China, Taiwan, HongKong and Macau. I hope it would not work too well.

Every Chinese be it from Mainland, TW, HK or Macau we all saw what this pathetic japanophile was trying to do. Saw it miles coming, and quite frankly it's a worthless thread nothing more. It does not anger us, just only hilarious because such trash think by discussing this topic would separate TW from Mainland. The old senile japanophile could not even accomplish this in '96 with the help of US and no TW politicians are trying it again. Our two SARs are still doing great since they were returned to China. Mainland and TW relation is better than ever and will continue to work closer and closer together. We have time to unify with our brothers and sisters, no problem cannot be solved between us.

The entire basis of the Chinese identity is: China.

What is Chinese without China? What is Chinese civilization without China?

...............................

Taiwan is part of China, always the territory of China.

But not part of the COMMUNIST.

Kick the Communist out of China, then we will united under just CHINA.

It's the traitorous mainland Chinese who refused unification!!! By still keeping the imported Communism.

TOTAL IDIOT!!!

During the liberation war from 1946 to 1949, KMT started with three times the resource, three times the territory, three times the troops and more than three times the income. KMT and PLA fought just a bit over one thousand battles over the course of the war, KMT won a grand total of 27 battles. From 1912 to 1945, China also suffered repeated invasions by foreign powers and even the capital of the nation has foreign colonies in it. In comparison, PRC, in its infancy, fought a coalition of 16 nations include US, UK and France at the same time, outside home territory and managed to kick UN force all the way from Chinese border to 38 degree parallel. In conclusion, KMT and CCP's military expertise are in completely different leagues.
Economy wise, during the 38 years which KMT ruling in mainland, the KMT build zero industry, actually REDUCED the literacy rate. An good year under KMT rule (without war, without natural disaster) actually have higher death rate than the PRC during great leap forward, the worst and only famine in PRC history. By the 38th year of PRC, China also has a GDP that ranked 9th in the entire world. In conclusion, KMT and CCP's ability to handle economy is also in completely different leagues.

Taiwan is populated by Ethnic Han Chinese that settled the Islands during the Ming Dynasty. Taiwan is by far more Chinese than the PRC Mainland China, because they used the traditional script rather than the simplified version, they promote traditional Han culture like ancestral worship and Confucius Ideals. Many Taiwanese I met are more proud of Chinese history than there mainland counterpart but hate the CCP in Beijing. Taiwan used the phonetic script of Bofomo for computer word input (based on Hanzi-Chinese Characters) rather than the romanized Pinyin phonetic script encouraged by Chairman Mao. Taiwan's ROC government makes the same claim to the SCS (but shows respect ot their Japanese Masters in the Senkakus) as the PRC government. In-fact, the ROC claims that Mongolia is part of Mainland China, therefore they are more nationalistic than the CCP!

1. Chinese language is in a constant state of evolution, like any other major language. Holding on to outdated traditional script which is harder to write with because it's more "Chinese" is foolish. If that was the case, we should go back to bone scripts thousands of years ago, since that's the earliest Chinese writing system.

2. There are plenty of people learning about Chinese history in mainland. Vast majority of Chinese Buddhists and Taoists live in Mainland, not Taiwan. The Confucius Institute, largest Chinese school in the world, is sponsored by PRC government.

3. It was the ROC government that gave up Outer Mongolia in the 1930's in a secret pact to secure help from Soviet Union. By the time the nationalists lost, there was nothing the communist could do to get Mongolia back. Of course, ROC government now publicly deny their secret pact with the Soviets, and idiots actually believe them.

4. Taiwan is helping United States and Japan in containing China, a direct counter to the interest of Chinese civilization.

In conclusion, you're way off mark and need to go back to class.

I would like to make a correction on your comment. The RoC didn't sign away outer Mongolia in a "secret" pact. They signed away outer Mongolia in 1945 in an open treaty with USSR in exchange for USSR to not support the CCP during the subsequent civil war (as a result, CCP didn't receive any aid from USSR during the entire civil war). RoC formalized diplomatic relationship (which legalize the relationship) with outer Mongolia on Jan 5th, 1946 and after CCP kicked KMT out of mainland and the Korean war is in progress (which is after US sent in the aircraft carriers to Taiwan strait), KMT then announced the treaty is null and void. To say shameless is an absolute understatement.

ROC was definitely the true successor of the Qing Dynasty.

I hope you are just kidding by comparing the mighty PRC to the technologically stone age Qing dynasty.

The early Qing dynasty maybe is powerful for a traditional Chinese dynasty, but she did not appear in the right time, from the beginning of the Qing dynasty, Europe was already industrialized.

If Qing dynasty is more powerful than today's PRC, then she could have overpowered those European industrial giants without any problem, but she was in fact too weak against a real enemy.

lol, qing beat russians badly in 雅克萨 easily, and if qing wasn't powerful, how come they achieved the biggest landmass in all chinese dynasties by only less than 200,000 eight banner warriors?

Few hundred Russian peasants just got outnumbered badly in a uncharted eastern land, but Qing dynasty still end up conceded more territory to the Russian Empire.

Many Hans actually joint to the eight banner, without the resources of the Ming dynasty, Qing cannot conquer a 13 million km^2 of land mass.

And remember, the Russian Empire at that period was just a third class European nation, because the West was populated with the advanced industrialized nations, she can only expand to the East.

Nah,qing conquered mongolia totally without the resource of ming dynasty, and the war between zhungar and qing was mainly fought by manchus and mongols too, that lead to the conquest of tibet and xinjiang.the 雅克萨 war did hurt russians more than qing dynasty.Very few qing soldiers were killed in that war, much less than russia.
