Surgical strike — the Indian fiction

Yes, oscar is not one person

You see, had you done your due diligence, you would have not even quoted me here, hence the 'give'. Suggest, next time when you quote me, please do check on what I have said about a particular instance/occurrence. Oscar, the one who I knew (and I have been here pretty long time) knows my views. Suggest head back to the relevant thread, and read what I wrote then.

.. but that is irrelevant that the editorial is correct about it being a media hype which affects our neighbors population and is important to us strategically.

Au contraire, your assumption of it being irrelevant is an assumption at your end. The fact that you have to assume another's identity, a respected member who I and @Joe Shearer respect, is interesting to say the least.

It remains relevant because you have not an iota of information what transpired.

The strike is a farce, propoganda &hatred from India is not.

And yet your inability to perceive what I have written in my posts above is NOT.

@waz @The Eagle @Oscar @Horus please close this thread before its start, this tread become a troll feast and flame baiting thread, thanks

It is a good read and after all, lest the other side believe in what they have been told to believe. We are looking at ground realities and discussion as such, will actually keep coming back to Modi led Government every time. It was a worst blow to the Indian Army by dragging it into political fest as such.

It's fake as Kim Kardishan ***. Why do you even bother in the time of hard chills and alcohol in the North.

Lets wait for the ice and blood to melt down and meet in next summer as usual. (If you know what i mean ;))

What does that mean - that you think he has changed considerably?

Please keep the hypocrisy to yourselves, it’s your government celebrating a fake event.

The government celebration is an outrage, and an insult to the members of the military and to all Indian citizens who don't wish their serving men and officers sacrifices to be made cheap political talking points to 'catch a vote', to use Jinnah's famous phrase.

The strike occurred. Let us not bandy words about it without knowledge of the events that transpired. Since then, there has been sufficient corroboration and evidence to put that beyond doubt. If it is an objection that what had happened earlier too was now being highlighted as a unique act of retaliation, that is valid; not the constant wail of denial.

To all Pakistani members: if you think it did not happen, that's fine; stop talking about it and picking at the scab on each and every occasion. The more publicity you give it, the more oxygen you give the poltroons and cowards who are taking political advantage of it, and the more ridiculous become the protests saying that it never happened.

.
The mere fact that two years and counting, they need to still emphasize it never happened is enough to indicate that something did happen ;)
U r a senior member here...so I assume u have the capacity to set aside the normal bravado and chest thumping and look at the facts and logic for a moment. The reasoning u give as proof of surgical strikes..."bcuz Pakistanis are denying it still...so it must have happened" is nothing but u gripping at straws. A simpler explanation could be that Pakistanis/Pakistan is denying it bcuz it didn't happen.

The burden of proof lies on the one who makes claims. India claimed to carry out "surgical strikes" and then at first didn't provide any proof citing "national security"...then later conflicting statements came out. Then everyone started chiming in about using shit and piss as camouflage and invisible Hanuman soldiers. Some more time passed and then a picture showing a destroyed "terrorist launchpad"(whatever that is) came out...which was even more puzzling bcuz the picture was taken during daytime, which contradicts the claim of surgical strikes being carried out at night. As opposed to this drama on Indian side...Pakistan invited journalists in the areas India had supposedly targeted.

So if the shoe was on the other foot and Pakistan had made such tall claims about carrying out a "surgical strike" inside Indian territory. Then failed to provide proof...made comical statements like "invisible soldiers" and way later released a picture that contradicted initial claims. India on the other hand had invited in journalists in the areas where Pak had claimed to carry out the strikes...and they found no such evidence...who would u believe?

If u want me to believe that a sizeable number of Indian soldiers were able to sneak in on one of the most heavily guarded borders on earth and go about blowing stuff up while Pak Army slept...I would need proof...until then a claim is just a claim.

I think it was nothing more than shelling and firing across LoC that both sides do from time to time, which doesn't qualify as crossing into enemy territory and carrying out a "surgical strike". IMO(unless proof provided to show otherwise) BJP/Modi exaggerated something like shelling of Pakistani border posts as "surgical strike" to gain more popularity and strengthen his "strong man Modi" image.

P.S. long time no see

Please read my post carefully, for two reasons: first, I, too assume that I have the capacity to set aside the normal bravado and chest thumping, and look at the facts and the logic, but not because I am a 'senior' member, whatever that animal is; I assume that is true because I am a rational person, and also an exceptionally well-informed person. @hellfire 's original reconstruction within eight hours of the incident were exaggerated and wrong in several vital details (these were in private conversations, none of which came into PDF), but later the full picture emerged, and it is utterly factual.

I do not feel the need to seek certificates by adducing concrete evidence; one of us has already faced censure from the authorities for what he revealed in his enthusiasm.

I know whom I would not believe. I would not believe imbecile Sanghis who make such absurd claims. And further, I would not cite their maunderings as evidence that what was real and made public officially was also as ephemereal. There has never been any effort on my part to conceal my contempt for these bigots and totalitarians, and what you have cited is part of the syndrome that a Sanghi displays.

As for Pakistani evidence and parading journalists around, I do not wish to waste time on it. Pakistan is a military dictatorship, and rigs events as it wishes; a state that can make the discovered parents of a captured terrorist disappear within twenty-four hours of discovery can perform any Potemkin manouevre. I had sincere hopes for Pakistan, and genuine regard for Pakistanis; after the disturbing actions of the Barelvis in recent times, only the regard for individual Pakistanis remains.

If u want me to believe that a sizeable number of Indian soldiers were able to sneak in on one of the most heavily guarded borders on earth and go about blowing stuff up while Pak Army slept...I would need proof...until then a claim is just a claim.

Entirely up to you. I made no tall claims earlier, and I emphasised that cross-border raids have happened before; the totally politically motivated publicity was deplorable, but has no reflection on the reality of those incidents having taken place.

Until then I think it was nothing more than shelling and firing across LoC that both sides do from time to time, which doesn't qualify as crossing into enemy territory and carrying out a "surgical strike". IMO(unless proof provided to show otherwise) BJP/Modi exaggerated something like shelling of Pakistani border posts as "surgical strike" to gain more popularity and strengthen his "strong man Modi" image.

Three things: there was shelling and firing but at a completely different location; the crossing over was in unprecedented strength and is unlikely to be repeated, as levels of vigilance have been considerably strengthened; and the role of the BJP has been clearly seen and noted, and requires no further comment.

P.S. long time no see

Regrettably, I am unable to log into the forum for various reasons, one at least being the increasingly toxic atmosphere in real life in India and in digital life on the forum. I miss the interactions of several years ago, but have reconciled myself to the situation.

That speaks of a very high level of surveillance.

A very nice rebuttal from your side.

I suppose what can be done is to take only those kind of steps which are unlikely to see an equal/ equivalent response from the Pakistani side (due to repercussions) - this leaves the usual cross-border exchanges where both sides are harmed in equal measure.

He was careless and found to be in breach of the rules governing serving officers (there were posts in other fora, as well). He shouldn't have been on this forum at all. Now that he is no longer subject to these regulations, I hope he will lose this mill-stone around his neck.

I wish i knew which worthy forums you are referring to. It would be good to read stuff from there.

I was addressing @hellfire there...mentioning his "senior member" title was to appeal to him to maintain the quality of the forum by sticking to logic.

It's one thing to have concrete evidence and therefore know the truth/facts and believe it urself...it's entirely another to expect others to believe it without revealing that evidence.

My only issue here is Indian members making fun of Pakistanis as if they are in denial...however in absence of any solid evidence(withheld for whatever reason as u claim) that's the natural and logical response.

Imagine if Pak claimed surgical strikes and provided no evidence(or conflicting reports emerged in addition to lack of evidence) and then Pakistanis ridiculed Indian members for not believing it. In what universe does that make sense? When did logic and believing things in presence of evidence change? Claims DO NOT EQUAL evidence...as simple as that.
I know whom I would not believe. I would not believe imbecile Sanghis who make such absurd claims. Whatever the case or whatever ur feelings towards Pakistani military...u have to admit that inviting journalists to check out the areas which India claimed to have hit...while India offering no concrete evidence on the other hand...lends credibility to PA discrediting Indian claims.
Entirely up to you. I made no tall claims earlier, and I emphasised that cross-border raids have happened before; the totally politically motivated publicity was deplorable, but has no reflection on the reality of those incidents having taken place.
The tall claims are not by u...the tall claims are made by the Indian government and hence the burden of proof lies on them.

It's good to have u back. Members like u should stay. Despite the disagreements...at least u keep a discussion respectful. Recently, so many chest thumping trolls have infested PDF.
