casualties? Who won WW2, Soviet Union or Nazi Germany? A war is won by who achieved their final goals, not who died less. If you surrender you can have zero casualties.

The difference though is that USA left the war and tried to contain it. WWII was a total war.

I'm not trying to convince you,I'm just stating that USA wasn't militarily defeated in the war. They left,it was a political "defeat".

My good man,do you understand that I said in 3 or 4 posts "the US was not militarily defeated"? In plain english,It wasn't USA that was defeated,it was the Republic of South Vietnam. USA left the war because of politics. The ones who kept fighting and eventually lost,were the incompetent leaders of South Vietnam. And unfortunately,many brave units of the ARVN were affected by the majority of corrupt and incompetent officers and politicians of their country. They had some epic units in the ARVN,but overall,by 1972-1974...the majority of the army was corrupted or with low morale.
