I guess you are right..I understand the position they are in, but i don't agree that Turkey should show sympathy towards them. Iranian mullahs dont looks warm towards us because we are a threat to them; 1) we have reasonable links with the west (especially nato), 2) we are Turkics, so Iran fears co-operation and strenghtening of Turks and Azerbaijanis plus south Azerbaijanis in Iran (maybe 30% of Iran?), 3) we in general don't give a dime about it, but Iranian mullahs are hell bent on fueling sunni-shia conflicts.
Because of these reasons, no matter which way Turkey goes, there will be mistrust between us. Yeah, trade will continue of course, but i don't expect warm political and military ties.
Just be happy that these are Iran's bad days. If they had more capability, they probably would create more objects for us. We shouldn't be naive and kid ourselves.
But the problem is that, we are neighbors, and we will keep being neighbors of each other for many years.. I mean, probably forever.....
We need to find a logical common ground to finish our hostilities..
