What's new

Some of you really don't understand what Mera Jism Meri Marzi stands for, and it shows

The sample of people on PDF doesn't represent the population of Pakistan. I speak from personal experience on the ground, yes apes exist in every society, just look at trump and his comment on women's genitals? I think Jinnah put it well "Women are not chattel for you to put on display and dispose when no longer required".

I have no issue with vocal women, I do take issue with toxic braggarts like Mariv though. She wanted equality, well the thing about equality is, if you swear at someone or continue to shout someone down, expect to be rebuked in a similar fashion. It wouldn't be the first time she was given a verbal smack down on live television, now is it?
yes agreed

@SecularNationalist ^^^

Is that true though? There are literally people in this very thread that are dismissing women's issue. Instead of addressing the points by op, they're criticizing feminism, as if that is an answer to women's issues.
Ok then what's the meaning of a signboard " ye lo Beth gayi mein theek se" ?
They are simply playing a women card to hide their true nasty agenda.
Why they are not speaking against rape of kashmiri women ,not even once. That shows who is pulling their strings.

i think those women who are demanding equal rights to men should be asked to run for long distance with heavy weight ,if they are unable to do this equivalent to men they should think that there are natural limits of women due to their body structure and way of thinking that is why for certain matters men are given preference

Let us give the most preference to donkeys. They can run longer distance with heavier weights.

My argument isn't to do with any other slogan, but the one mention by you originally to me, and the one this thread is about.

Everything else is irrelevant.

answer of the question lies in your question.

men are made for some purpose.
women are for other purpose.
men have some qualities.. which women dont have .
same womens have some qualities which man dont.
I am muslim so i'll talk about islam. In islam Mother (a women)is most respectable for her child.
3 times more then the father*(a man )

we are talking about human beings, donot bring donkey in discussion as donkeys cannot carry and fire heavy weapons like men which is difficult for women ,similarly women have maternal leave issue due to baby birth which effects performance particularly in busy time when more manpower is needed
Let us give the most preference to donkeys. They can run longer distance with heavier weights.

I can agree with that. Sometimes being loud can have the opposite reaction to what you're looking for.

I fail to see the purpose behind it and what is it they want? As for the slogan"Mera Jism, Meri Marzi" it goes without saying and stands true not just for women but men as well. Of course its your body and you will decide what to do with it. One can go to a brothel, do unprotected Sex and in return risk his/her Jism with STDs but again its his/ her marzi or we can follow what our religion tells us and what is halal on us in the shape of our wives. Discrediting religion in the name of liberalism and masquerading it as freedom is nothing but bigotry.

Don't fret, we got you as long as you read with an open mind and to understand and not to pointlessly argue.

It comes as no surpise that the word jism in our society is packed with negative connotations and embedded with vulgar undertones, which makes the message of Mera jism meri marzi seem overtly sexualised, when in reality, it is anything but.

Clearly, we need to do all the emotional labour around here so let us break it down for you. Mera jism, meri marzi literally means that womxn want bodily autonomy and have the right to make decisions concerning their bodies.

Aurat March's Instagram account put it beautifully when they said, "it means an enforcement of a human right every individual is born with, but women, trans, and non-binary person are robbed of."

If this man has learnt from history, why can't you?

Contrary to popular belief, it's not about how you dress —although it does include that too!

It means no to forced pregnancies

And sexual assault and rape

Have we forgotten how many women are victims of acid attacks?

Or genital mutilation that happens behind closed doors?

For anyone who thinks it advocates for obscenity...

Spoiler alert: it doesn't

OKB knows the problem... okay? okay.

Shehzad Roy gets it. Why don't you?
Problem lies with everyone own understanding and fighting the battles which are important at given time.

Nothing against being male or female in any society it will always have stereotypes, just human nature and how humans as species evolved.
Men hunted and gathered food, while women took care of other affairs, if you look older society majority of the times it was older ladies who were mostly provided the guidance by telling about past and future.

1 I support equal rights , freedom and justice for all no matter what gender they have be it Male, Female and others.
2 if you are just blindly supporting one cause what about other side which is being affected and will get affected more. Simple example if one lady doesnt get promotion should she be given promotion just because shes from other gender ? Majority of the times you usually forget
How men overlocked in same position.
3 From what i have seen from this and similar movements is just the freedom to be vulgar and show your body parts, the more civilisations grew they adapted to covered their bodies and Pakistan is also a islamic nation atleast should respect the land , law and religion.
4 the Biggest excuse we are given is why men cant control themselves few pointers for that person if you are waking naked on street why are you forcing your beliefs on others. You are forcing others to do sin for no reason.
5 the biggest victim is quite common in all is men not the other way, 98% you wont even hear about this as they wont speak because of society's pressure, family pressure.

If you wanna fight for a cause, fight which supports all, protect everyone, not just one group but wont see this happening as it wont benefit them directly

These are Muslim women yes?

Why don't they ask for their Rights clearly stated by Allah in Quran. And at the same time commit to give the men's rights too!

Anyways these liberals are a small minority trying to speak for a large silent majority of Muslim women who will eventually shut them up.

Cut their NGO funding firstly. Then we will see how many come out to march.

As Khalil-ur-Rehman said, we make dua for all liberals in this march to have daughters just like Marvi Sarmad.

These womans are not fighting for their right infact thwre are more rights to woman in islam than any other society probleum is they want un limited freedom which with marvi clearly saying that she decide if she want to keep her relation with husband or not she can sleep with any one she want

If these woman want their right they should not bring these type of imoral slogans if it is about rights they should bother about rights not slogan

Who will give them right a man

These woman want to prove those illetrate jahils whom PROPGET MOHAMNAD defeated who kill their daughters that in future they demand these type of freedom

Woman has more right

Does in west woman not been used kidnaped raped etc why these slogans here
