Islamabad, June 18 (IANS) An alliance of religious and political parties in Pakistan has asked the government to shoot down US drones that routinely target militants, Xinhua news agency reported.
They warned they would go to the Supreme Court if the government restored the NATO supply line to Afghanistan. Pakistan had cut the supply line last November to protest the killing of its 24 soldiers in an US airstrike on its border posts.
Talks between Pakistan and the US have not yet succeeded to end the stalemate. Hardline groups have mounted pressure on the government not to reopen the supply line.
Chief of the Defence of Pakistan Council (DPC) Maulana Sami-ul-Haq said Sunday the alliance will oppose any decision to reopen the line.
He also demanded the government to shoot down US drones whenever they enter the country's airspace.

How will Pakistan shoot down these Drones when they are flying over North Waziristan, which is territory that is not even controlled by the Pakistani Military?

Pakistan lacks high altitude SAMs as these drones fly over 30,000 feet.

So the only way to shoot down these drones is to use F-16's which pretty means all modernization, spare parts of these birds will end.

So in other words, Pakistan has no way to shoot down these drones.

Educated Pakistanis can understand this paradigm, its just these blind nationalists who dream about Nuking Israel, conquering Kashmir and enslaving Afghanistan who are too dumb understand this.

That is your biggest misconception.

Pakistani Nukes are De-Mated for security and budget reasons.

Unlike, USA or Russia which keep active Nuclear Missile Silos, Pakistan does not.

Assembling the nukes with the trigger, warhead and delivery mechanism will take over 72 hours.

Pakistan has a couple of ways to deliver these nuclear weapons. Either mounting them on F-16 which they will drop as bombs on enemy targets, or mounting them on missiles to fly to enemy targets.

US Spy Satellites can easily detect if Radio Active Material is being assembled for a Nuclear Delivery. And if that is the case, India does have active Nuclear Silos on its Nuclear Submarines and can fire conventional or nuclear weapons on Pakistani bases and take out our nukes.

So no, Pakistan and India do not enjoy MAD the way USA and USSR did during the cold War.

India has the nuclear capability to totally destroy Pakistan in a nuclear strike and launch a second strike while Pakistan does not.

Its better to stop this endless fascination with nuclear weapons.

The most likely scenario in the war would be terrorists taking over your nukes and try to take it out of your country, secondly a few will be blown up inside Pakistan - similar to suicide bombs that go off.
