As long as it does not disrupt existing oil markets and the denomination of oil in dollars, it can remain as a fringe activity. That is my point and true as of now. If the TOB progresses to the point where it is a challenge to the dollar, Iran will get a swift reckoning.

If you want to dig up dirt on America the unjustified overt and covert foreign wars starting late 19th century are enough. May be not here but on liberal NY Times or Huffington Post you will find plenty of Americans too echoing your thoughts along those lines.

Iran probably won't and it knows it anyway. in any case iran has benefitted a lot from the recent wars so it would be rather silly to upset the sugar cane wagon so to speak. i'd say oil currency warfare is probably true.

There is no comparison possible between what is going on in Iran versus what happened to the Branch Davidians. For the Davidians, they were prosecuted NOT because of what they are but because of what they DO. When your religious PRACTICES goes contrary to established laws, then the government has the right to prosecute you under those laws.

But if you want to prosecute people for what they ARE then you should be honest enough to make explicit those laws that say you cannot BE something. That is what is happening in Iran and many other ME countries, where Christians are prosecuted for what they ARE.
