Kingdoms, Caliphates, Nation states, Monarchies, Khanates etc are all permitted as long as sovereignty is declared to God.

you seem to be misunderstanding mainstream sunni islam----the principles are divine, their interpretation and implementation is not---which why the quran insists that people get what they are working for---both in this life and in the next----the very idea of any human being superior to another in anything except piety is abhorrent to islam which is why the sultans and kings have traditionally had to co-opt so called religious scholars to give sanction to their (the kings) actions and edicts...
