A bunch of Hindutvadis wanted to blow up Taj Mahal. And so they filed a case in the Court like some civilized ... savages? Its the foundation which is going to blow your mind. Trust me, its exactly like Angor-wat.
Give me time I will prove it to you.
But then, let me clear it, i dont want a bunch of Hindutvawadis to attack taj Mahal just because it was a temple once upon a time.
you two are such dunderheads... you didn't recognize that famous ghalib couplet that i stole.

Let Pakistanis make fun of the slavery of Hindus. The matter is sub judice, the court will take the decision as needed.@rockstar08 is a poet not me. But that was a good attempt.
On topic:
Yes, I believe that TajMahal was built on a temple. It is very well documented that under muslim rulers, many hindu temples were destroyed and later renovated. It began with the first idol breaker Mahmud of Ghazni and his example was followed by Mongols, Turks and Persians. And in many cases the temple materials were re-used. For example Bellary, Masjid built by Tipu Sultan (1789-90), Eluru Fort where temple materials were re-used etc.
The strongest evidence regarding Taj Mahal is the foundation on which it is built. It is exactly like Angor-wat (Cambodia), which is one of the greatest hindu temple ever built. Taj mahal was not designed by a single person (as popularly believed).
If you pick up any newspaper today, you will find pictures of how ISIS is destroying old relics and statues in Iraq. Say a 500yrs later, ppl would find it hard to believe that once upon a time Buddhists lived in Afghan and Iraq because by then all the proof would have be erased.
Now dont misunderstand me, I am a proud Indian, and Taj Mahal is one of the most stunning symbols of India's rich history. The credit goes to Shah-jahan for commissioning something so spectacular and going to great lengths to see it completed. So even though Taj was built on a temple, i dont have any issues with it, its not as if Tejo mahalaya needs to be rebuilt.
I thought Taj Mahal was built by Muslims, Indians are not capable of building grand architecture.

I believe it may have some Hindu connection but it is unlikely that it was a temple in reality. It does have its share of secrets, sure. Even to the extent of using materials from Hindu temples (common practise), but a shivling in the place itself is stretching it a bit. But I am willing to see the closed chambers opened to the public.

My post should not be misconstrued as "attack Taj Mahal because it was built on a temple".
Angor-wat , the hindu Shiva temple in Cambodia...

metal found in the foundation (over which the entire structure is built). To this date India temples 're built in the same way.

Over this the engineers will then build a shaft

Now look at Taj Mahal's foundation...and the chamber (hidden secret chamber as it is believed)
View attachment 208211
so if we compare both the structures then should I believe that a shiva temple (Angor wat) has a tomb below it???
............
Back to angor-wat where the temple structure was built around the central structure
