Team USA have 35 gold medals as of now. Next up is Team GB with 22 and China third at 20.

The 3 major contributor on gold medal on team USA is Michael Phelps (5 Gold) Katie Ledecky and Simone Biles (4 Gold Each) so 13 golds in total.

If we split the top 3 contributor from team USA, we have 22 gold rest of the team, so it would still be number 1 in gold medal tally and share with team GB, and still 2 gold medal ahead of China. And guess what? Phelps, Ledecky and Biles would have stand at number 4 with 13 gold with Germany.

Basically, if we separate Phelps, Ledecky and Biles as a separate country, we are still number 1. And we will be equal number 1 and number 4 in the medal table, and that have never been done in Olympic games befores
