Revival: The Muslim Response to the Crusades

I'm sorry are you really this thick? When you were born did someone open your head and take out your brain? The crusades didn't "break" the Arab world. The only things to have ever broken the Arab world were the Mongols and they eventually became Muslims themselves.

Catholicism hasn't conquered the world, there are only 1.2 billion Catholics worldwide, in comparison to 1.6 billion Muslims. If you want to narrow it down a bit more, there are still 1.4 billion Sunnis so no Catholics haven't conquered the world nor will they ever. The reality is atheism and Islam are conquering the world, they are the two fastest growing ideologies worldwide.

Israel isn't immune, they lost to Hezbollah, can't conquer Gaza, lost the Sinai to Egypt (which in total is bigger than all of Israel, that's a ridiculous amount of land lost), can't strike Iran without pleading to the US (and their pleas go unheard), oh and they couldn't strike Pakistan's nuclear facilities. We made the bomb and they couldn't stop us, we have the power to annihilate them if we wish to do so. Hence why they have been more careful over the past few decades.

You are just continuing to prove how much of a barbarian you are, and only furthering my case that it was your ancestors who were in the wrong all that time ago.

The crusades did nothing for Europe other then end many of its people's lives, you achieved nothing.

Look where you come from. Look where i come from.

Italy / Europe is the pinnacle of humanity.

You? Well...i actually like those didgeridoo music you guys make:

. .
The crusades broke the arab worlds backbone and it became what it is today. Broken down vasalls with muppet leaders and cultural downfall.

Not true at all, I suggest you read the book

The Crusades through Arab eyes.

Catholicism has.

Care to list the countries where Catholicism is the state religion and plays an active role with a growing population?

The Renaissance, all the beautiful art, culture and society we developed in Italy out of Rome was only possible

Too bad all of that renaissance was built off the inventions of Muslims. Even the guys during the Renaissance acknowledge that Muslims played a huge role.

 Pinnacle my ***, your country doesn't mean sh!t to me or 99% of people on this planet. It is far from the pinnacle, don't think so highly of yourself. It's like a hobo calling himself a King. Pathetic really.

Not to mention any achievements your ancestors achieved pale in comparison to their atrocities and you didn't achieve them either, so I don't see why you are so proud.

And I ain't aborigine either, I don't see any reason why you would confuse me as such. It's not even the right stereotype, shows you how low your IQ is.

You want to take a look where you and I are from? My parents raised me to not be a racist swine, yours obviously didn't.

The crusaders controlled minimal parts of Sham before they were removed. In comparison Arabs ruled the vast majority of the Iberian Peninsula (which is bigger than all Ottoman controlled areas of Europe) for 800 years and large areas of Southern Europe (Sicily, Malta, parts of Southern Italy, Crete, Cyprus) for centuries. Afterwards the Ottomans ruled most of Balkans.

We even reached the middle of France and controlled parts of Southern France for some time! Battle of Tours for instance changed the history of all of Europe.

Also those regions were never originally "European" (Roman or Greek) but inhabited by native successive Semitic peoples. Even the so-called Roman provinces/many Roman emperors were original Semites/Arabs or natives ruling on behalf of the Roman Empire. History in that part of the world started millennia upon millennia before any attested records of anything in current day Italy existed.

Besides Christianity itself is a Semitic religion native to the Near East. Nothing to do with Europe. The first Christian communities in the world aside from the small number of Jewish followers, were Christian Arabs as well.

For instance during Roman occupation of Jerusalem the Jews were heavily persecuted but when the Muslim Arabs conquered Palestine/Israel, Jews were granted many more freedoms and the Jews were welcomed into Jerusalem again under Caliph Omar ibn Al-Khattab (ra).

Anyway AJ made a great documentary about all this.

Yeah sure. The Art of the Renaissance is based on muslims...lol. Show me some muslim marble statues like the ones we have. Islam has no art. Art is banned in it. As is beautiful music or anything else.

Renaissance was the remembering to the values of the Roman Empire. The Empire was not islamic.

Also i want ask you something, why should i see crusades through the eyes of the enemy? The arabs were a threat to my people. They wanted to harm us. Wanted bad for us. The crusades ended their ability to do so. It meant we could develop peaceful. Their point of view is irrelevant regarding that. I want peace for my nation. Thats what i care for. Understandable, isnt it?

Wtf are you talking about? Modern events don't count as the crusades dumbass. And last time I checked, Italy hasn't conquered the world. Hell, all of NATO couldn't handle little Iraq or Afghanistan. Now you have to rely on proxies to do your bidding in Syria. You have the holy land? I'm sorry is that a joke? Jews and Muslim are currently contesting over it, Christians aren't even part of the game now.

No there isn't, the brutalities that occurred were senseless violence trying to take the holy land. Not only did Europe mistreat Muslims, they also hurt the Jews and even other Christians in the area.

By your logic, every single Muslim country has the right to not recognise Israel, boycott it, and destroy it if we like. But you will never consider that just even though they have conquered our holy lands, will you? Your logic is flawed.

The current situation doesn't change what's happened in the past, and I don't think Europe has much to celebrate either.

You just said earlier that the holy lands being owned by another religion is enough for war, so yes you do have a problem otherwise you should correct it to if the holy lands are held by Muslims its enough for war.

I have no reason to visit the holy lands anytime soon, but if I want to I can and I will.

Muslims used senseless violence to capture the Holy land, so what.
At that time, Muslims were agressively attacking Christians.
It is not surprising there was a backlash.

No country is required to recognize another country.
Any country can boycott another country without reason.
War, however is more serious today and you have to have a good reason,
and if You manage to occupy another country You have to follow certain rules.

Rules are different now than during crusades.
At that time it was perfectly OK send an Army to the Holy Land.
As for hurting the Jews, that was not called for by the church,
and those sacking Constantinople were excommunicated,

Muslims taught the Italians ART. I will show some examples, give me a moment.

Aborigine, Arab. Whats the difference? I´m not interested in your history nor in your culture or anything related to you. I have an extremly low opinion for them. I want the best for my people. And i think thats understandable.

The so-called Christians of Sham during the 6th and 7th century were fellow Arabs (Ghassanids).

In fact the Ghassanid Kingdom (220-638) was one of the earliest Christian states if not the earliest.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghassanids

You cannot claim ownership of a region that you have nothing to do with other than a very short time period in the recorded history of the region (overall), ruled by proxy (through locals) let alone use Christianity (itself a Semitic religion native to Sham - not Europe) as an excuse.

Arab Muslim conquests of Southern Europe were in fact pay-back for that prior occupation. Natives of the Arab world never had to conquer Europe during that era as it was much less developed and everything that was needed was already present.

pretty much nonsense.

We had only two emperors of arabic origin. One was Elagabal, who was killed early because his decadent and stupid lifestyle.

The Crusade through Arab eyes also shows the effects or lack thereof of the crusades. I am not asking you to sympathize. I am asking you to read.

Not really, I suggest you look up Islamic philosophy and all the stuff that renaissance people took from their.

Also Islam does have art,

The only people to come close to such beauty was the Byzantines and their art looks mediocre next to this.

Statues are useless and as such I care not for them.

This is a fine art, the Italians could only dream of doing.
Muslims lived in Palaces, the Italians did not.

This is because Muslims are smart. And very sexy.

Italians cannot show anything close to this elegance.
All hail ISLAM!!

And no, history does not magically change/disappear just because people happen to change religious beliefs.

@EgyptianAmerican

BTW, I cannot see what that fake "Italian" is writing as he is on my ignore list. In any case the region discussed has nothing to do with him.

I believe he wrote

@waz can you deal with this dude? He keeps coming onto these threads and is just hating with made up facts.

Quite bullshit, since genetic studies say there was almost no genetic flow and our DNA is virtually the same as back then in roman empire.

Really, if you say so? It seems from a phenotypic perspective this is not the case at least in the Southern parts of Italy. I have seen Italians who look darker than me.
Is it not true that the Roman Empire once had a Arab as their emperor and that the Romans bequeathed citizenship to non-Romans?
Is it not true after the fall of (Western) Rome, a germanic people (I think Lombards) conquered the Northern aspects of what is now Italy and became latinized due to the Roman influence and made the population more "European" in phenotype?

Sorry I made my reply inside your reply.

In 627, when the Quraysh and their allies besieged the city in the Battle of the Trench, the Qurayza entered into negotiations with the besiegers.

They tried to exterminate the Muslims in their city. That requires no apologies and was dealt with the correct way. What Crusaders did was completely unprovoked and stupid beyond belief.

No Muslims committed atrocities during the crusades.
The Crusades were not really Christian wars. Please do not fall for this. It was barbarians disguised in the cloak of Christianity. They persecuted the Orthodox Christians like crazy. Even today Orthodox Christianity is still wary of the (now post-Christian) West.
