Revival: The Muslim Response to the Crusades

Armenians are christians.

Why do you think he copied our style? Why didnt he use islamic style?

There are Armenian Muslims. Especially considering that the only way to get positions of power in the ottoman empire was to be a Muslim.

uses roman architecture elements. The arc there was invented by Rome.

Why would copy your style??

Hahahahahah Of course, it is all Roman/Italian. Any piece of building has Roman influence in it. Tell me in what way was Divirgi Great Mosque inspired by Roman architecture??

He was an artist. Leonardo da Vinci had no position of power in italy.

Let me ask you, why come so many millions to italy. Why is our art so famous?

I believe Art is the Soul of a people. Why would you insult our soul? Why would you say that you would destroy our art?

I know thats what your people do alot..but i dont understand this "hate concept" you have

He was an architect, they have access to imperial funds and power to help build such things. They are usually close to the higher ups meaning most likely he was a Muslim.

The arc of the pillars was invented in the roman empire. Its a fact. No need to get crazy about it. Before it was invented architects used flat arcs and massive stones to carry the weigth. The arc itself was a roman invention.

Turkish "art" is a mix. Anatolia was part of our empire. Our people share some heritage. If you like it or not. of course your architects used ideas from before, as did ours.

The Arc was not invented by anyone, the arc has been in human history since the beginning of time.

I thought Anatolia wasn't apart of your empire? If it is then that means your last roman emperors were Muslims.

wiki says the Balyan family was christian. So what now? You have a problem with that?

Show me an important islamic architect or artist who worked in italy and i will honor his work regardless his religion.

His family was most likely christian majority but the architect was Muslim. he wouldn't be an architect if he wasn't especially considering he made a lot of Mosques.

True, we do share same heritage. And I am happy for it.
But we can still call each other petty insults. it's fun :)
But, please lets do keep sharing photos. I love threads like this!!

and yes the round arc was invented in rome.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arch

The ancient Romans learned the arch from the Etruscans, refined it and were the first builders to tap its full potential for above ground buildings:

The Romans were the first builders in Europe, perhaps the first in the world, fully to appreciate the advantages of the arch, the vault and the dome.[22]

Throughout the Roman empire, their engineers erected arch structures such as bridges, aqueducts, and gates. They also introduced the triumphal arch as a military monument. Vaults began to be used for roofing large interior spaces such as halls and temples, a function that was also assumed by domed structures from the 1st century BC onwards.

The segmental arch was first built by the Romans who realized that an arch in a bridge did not have to be a semicircle,[23][24] such as in Alconétar Bridge or Ponte San Lorenzo. They were also routinely used in house construction, as in Ostia Antica (see picture).

His family was most likely christian majority but the architect was Muslim. he wouldn't be an architect if he wasn't especially considering he made a lot of Mosques.

He build more churches than mosques and introduced western architecture into Ottoman empire.

What now?

I dont know. Its strange isn´t it? 2000 years ago one of your ancestors and one of mine propably represented the same Empire. Stand united for the Roman Empire. Its values and light in a world of barbarism and now today our nations are rivals on brink of being open enemies.

It is strange how things develop.

Thanks for ripping us off copy-cats

Except those churches were not made by the person who made the palace, nullifying your claim.

I dont think Venice fits. It is our door to the world and always used evry single art style and i think thats great.

But it was no muslim architects present there.

Have you ever visited my country? If so, did you like it? Do you see Italy rather positive or negative?
