Surely its a mock up. All of the displays of Prahaar have been mock ups.

This article is rather vague regarding what exactly was misplaced, as in unclear on whether the missiles alone or their support launchers and mobile command centre as well. IMO, the launchers and Command Centre accompanying the display look authentic. And they're sensitive tech as well.Surely its a mock up. All of the displaces of Prahaar have been mock ups.
Do you even find the news-story in post#1 believable?
Like those AGNI missiles which drive past down Rajpath on 26th January's RD Parade are armed with Nuclear Warheads!
And the Arjun MBTs in the same parade have LAHAT missiles loaded!
Or the Su-30 MKI "peeling off" in the fly-past finale are all carrying AAMs and Bombs!
HELLS BELLS!!! Even the marching columns do not have ammo in the magazines of their INSAS rifles !!!!
The only guys armed there are the guys who need to be armed........ you know who.
Now dont't tell me that you believe in Ghosts, Angels and Mermaids?
Which imbecile wrote that story above?
Great an INdian poster trying to downsize the security concerns raised. You overlook the use of Chinese origin logisitics handler of the missile. You overlook the issue of the missile being unguarded for a month. If what you is true an accurate about warhead and propellant not being installed (which I Doubt), it doesn't stop someone from getting a close look at the inner working of the engine and inner workings of the missile.
The fact that Modi is investigating the matter....is a red flag...
Too many lame mistakes being committed over and over again by Indians. IM fed and tired of it. Change your state of mind...wake up and smell the jasmine.....the world is not peaceful and sane you clueless f-ks
Probably a noob question, but here goes:Is it possible they weren't just mockups, but genuine missiles who had no fuel and explosive warhead? As in, they had genuine seekers and propulsion systems and controls inside?
They don't work anyway, what's the danger?
They don't work anyway, what's the danger?
Nope.
Even the controls will be stripped. Nobody (even in DRDO !!) will want to take responsibility for "in-transit damage" caused to sensitive equipment. Instead simulation equipment is used IF there is a need for any Op. Demos.
For Example: Radar Equipment is frequently displayed at Defence EXPOs. Sometimes a Radar Picture forms part of the Display there. Do you think that the Radar is being then operated in an "Emission Mode"?
That picture (and other information in the Display) is generated by a Simulation Module. That has a number of advantages: primarily safety since Radar/Microwave Emissions are HAZARDS.
Then the other advantages are the operational Eqpt are not being needlessly exposed to the risk of damage.
Finally you conserve the Life of the Operational components and also obviate Eqpt. failure risk due to MTBF issues.
Nobody will want to face the risk of the Eqpt malfunctioning during a Demo in an EXPO.......least of all the Saleman.
But this article seems to suggest that DRDO, instead of following the precedent as stated by you, instead chose to take authentic hardware for it's exhibition, and hence the hulla-bullo. And coming as it is from India Today and not some IDRW-ish source, is it possible there's an element of truth in their accusations?
They don't work anyway, what's the danger?
