Power and capability Show of Al-Khalid Tank, Bahawalpur

The AK and Zarrar are designed for two different environments..
It is very unlikely that the Zarrar will ever go into the desert.. as it is unlikely that the AK will hit the boggy plains of Punjab.

AK II still sits on paper.. and not on the testing phase..
AK and AK I are blurred lines.. since the changes are being implemented in bits and pieces across the line.
Right now.. the AK I in its complete form is the best heavy tank we possess.
The Zarrar is the best medium tank we possess.

I guess AKs are the top class tanks (even no1) arent they ??

Boggy plains means the wet..mushy areas around the northern part of the province...particularly those near the shakargarh bulge..
The border areas that start from bahawalnagar.. towards the upper half of lahore..between the Ravi and sutlej.
Depending on the season.. these areas are not only well fortified with trenches but large elevations as well.
While the AK may operate in this area.. it has a greater tendency of sinking into the ground in such terrain...
The Multan Corp's may very well operate in the southern area of the Punjab...
What role do you suppose goes to the 3rd ind Armored at lahore?..
the greatest concentration of light tanks and amphibious vehicles is in the Punjab sector..specifically due to the terrian..
further south..
heavy tanks..such as the Al-Khalid come into their own...
Please do not confuse the punch with other kicks and jabs..
There wont be only offensive actions.. and wont be confined to one area.
During the cold war.. the Russians wanted the T-72's to operate in the german hinterland..while their T-80's would take the few open plains...a lot of emphasis was placed on mech inf.. as we do..
On the opposite end..
NATO tank formations considered meeting the russian onslaught with heavy well equipped tanks.. taking key locations..and holding them against the hammer...a something the Al-Khalid is supposed to ensure.

there are others better versed in tank warfare to comment on this..
I gave my views based on what I heard and read.

What do you mean by boggy plains?

Because as far as i know, isn't the first armoured division at Multan, considered to be the punch of Pakistan Army, armed with Al-Khalids????

And that area is plains, not desert.

yes sir, you are right in saying that the armoured division in multan is the punch of pakistan army. but the area it operates is a mix of plains and deserts(not purely). The most probable area shall be from kasur to bahawal nagar which is plains in north and desert in south. Although we have a corps in Bahawal pur but still i think the same division shall be used for limited offense policy, as it was used in previous wars and if that is the case It shall require a variety of vehicles to meet the target.

:D
india a having 1600 T-90 within 2020 and upgrading T-72 and also producing arjun . pakistan should have same 1600 ak-I and then in future ak-II with more improvement to make a balance armourd fleet.
in the year 2020 i think PA will have 2020 ak's
