Al-Zarrar won't cut it in the modern Battle field. Pakistan needs more AK and T-80/T84 class tanks.
50 tanks per year? Seems kinda low.
Should be 50 tanks per month or something....
50 Al Khalid-1 per week is something one can look upto...
We need massive upgradation of industrial defence sector.
Pakistan IS able to produce railway engines but does not produce them because priorities are laying elsewhere. Having capability is one thing and utilizing (or not) that capability is another.
Chinese are known to have developed good Marine engines.Land/Aero engines are still dependent on the assistance of German Turbo Union Gmbh. I wish we learn the lesson from the experience of putting all the eggs in one (American) basket and initiate self reliance in field of engines.Unlikely. When it ends they'd be broke.
Chins is now building high quality poweplants too.
Al KHALID engine is manufactured in Ukraine,in the part of the country which is 100% Russian speaking. If political situation deteriorates,production/supply can be disrupted/stopped.Russia,under pressure from India or Pakistan supplying ANZA/BUKTERSHIKAN to Syrian Fighters via Saudi Arabia, can also terminate the engine supply agreement. So does HIT producing AK-Is and heard some years ago that PA has about 600+ of them. I think they should have produced about 700+ of AK-Is. Also they should market AK-IIs if ready to Muslim countries especially IRAQ, LIBYA, ALGERIA, TUNISIA, YEMEN, OMAN, JORDAN and other GCC countries or even welcome them to join in the project.
What problems in Ukraine??? Explain in details.
Also HMC is fully capable of making engines just need a JV with German MTU or any other company and surely we will be able to make Engines for TANKS, APCs, TRUCKs, SHIPs and for other purposes and can start up over own industry. INSHA ALLAH.

Joint venture,Investment,TOT,Trade These are balls in the hand/court of Germany.Better to bring in German company to do JV with HMC in making petrol and diesel engines in Pakistan and sell the 30-41% shares to local business to make HMC more advance and also to open up new, better and bigger facility in other parts like Balochistan, Sindh and in NWFP as well. This will help local industry to start up their own automotive industry as well. Also Germany will gain a good market share as well.

Majority of population of Ukraine is Russian,in particular in the east Ukraine and Crimea where Tartar Muslim are only about 14%.In western Ukraine there is a very slender majority of Ukrainer.UK,France, Germany and Turkey have historically tried to deny the territory of Crimea to Russians, just as Russians expelled all the Tartar Muslims from Crimea to Qazaqistan and Siberia after the 2nd w/w .Only, after the demise of Soviet Union,a mere quarter of million surviving Tartar Muslim managed to come back to their ancestral home..Crimea.Nope... Ukraine has a russian minority hence the recent shit hitting the fan in Crimea... and Maidan square...
