PM reaffirms to do everything for modernisation of Bangladesh army

Whats wrong with MiG 29's and Yak 130's.

By all accounts Yak 130 is a very good trainer similar to the Hawk Mk132 that IAF and RAF use.

And also with MiG 29. Its a fantastic jet that is evolving. The IAF just upgraded its whole lot of MiG 29's to SMT standards and plan to use it for the next 15 years. It is an excellent plane for A2A combat, though deficient in A2G role.

The IN just bought new MiG 29K's, though the MiG 29K is a deeply modernized plane with even structural changes.
Mig-29 is very expensive to maintain. It's maintenance costs were once $5 million a year per jet.

It's not excellent for A2A, it doesn't have any recorded kill against a fighter of its class.

sir, it seems to me that you always act like you are the most knowalagable person in pdf. sir don,t do it because you are not.............:big_boss:

Step 4 came before step 5 (we bought Mig-29s before Yak-130). Sir, you need to refurbish your knowledge. Also, if I remeber it correctly, our Air Force has no plans to purchase anymore Mig-29s.

I can train satnnes with my Butthun kicks every time with mach 10, 200 g
So, your butt can move at hypersonic speed! You should apply for US or Chinese Air Force as they are looking for hypersonic jets. Don't know their interest in hypersonic butts though

i am only refaring how our air force pilot train. and yes i am very aware of yak deelivery in bangladesh. you should look baf air force peg there most of the yak photo posted by me.
we bought yak-130 because we are going to recive su-30 (4++),generally yak-130 called a trainer but we are going to use this many different type of mission (TRAINING ON YAK IS NOT THE MISSION) . he also say yak-130 will also going to equip photograpic pod and i don,t know what the helL are they talking about...............:undecided:
Unknown reason i can,t show you the facebook peg where a baf person him self wrote this. ................:coffee:

Facebook has been banned in Bangladesh, because of war criminals "verdict".

I can see you are not well versed with knowledge in military aviation. I would recommend talking with experts throughout the globe who concur that MiG 29 is a fantastic A2A fighter.

.
I don't think that is the case. Yak is a great training platform. It's operational capability however is limited. These are simple points of facts..... Not criticisms

do you know what is operational capability mean is?

are you sure you are not confused that with ability?

Yes I am perfectly clear. Are you sure you know what you are talking about? Do expand how you distinguish operational capability from ability.

Operational Capability, the capability of technological system to perform as intended

that's why we can see the terms of initial operating capability and full operational capability in military terms

No one was speaking about the finer points of theoretical quoted capability and actual operational capability of a jet. Thus if that is what you interpreted you got the wrong end of the stick.

Yaks modus operandi is that of a trainer and it will do that job very well hopefully.

As a lead in fighter or in a COIN role I do not hold out much hope. It is slow, ineffective radar and low load capacity. It is an out and out trainer. BAF may wish it perform multiple role but it's true utility will lie in being a trainer and I guess a cheap solution to carry out regular petrol type activity. BAF won't be counting on it for its "operational" meaning combat capabilities.

.
Step 1, get a decent Air Force to support the Army. And stop buying Mig-29s and Yak-130s
Not just decent but much bigger Air Force. Problem with Bangladesh is its corrupt Government otherwise Bangladesh should have much bigger force and should play major role specially in Muslim world

bigger than what?

had you compared what are Bangladesh acquired for at least this last four year and their yearly budget for military?

someone had listing that Bangladesh already inducting at least 57 of aircraft and helicopter, not to mention they already purchasing dozens of new MBT, hundreds APC, inducting more large surface combatant warships than what Pakistan can in the last four year.

they are doing good enough for a military with yearly budget less than four billion US dollar, their acquisition is well positioned and well balanced between the three services

do you know what is Yak 130 roles and what kind of situation in which need counter insurgency platform, especially aircraft?

do you thing, most of COIN and ground attacker aircraft have supersonic speed, great radar system? look at warthog, super tucano, Su-25 Frogfoot, and other.

And Yak-130 will doing good for regular patrol activity and trainer roles in low intensity conflict and peace condition

Rather than phrasing questions come out and state what you mean... It will save both our times.

If BD needs COIN operations to be carried out I very much doubt they would use YAK. YAK is deficient as a combat platform on every front. It has capacity to fill the operational holes somewhat I guess but I would postulate that the cost of using YAKs given low load capacity would make it redundant.

Yak is a trainer aircraft, it can also act as a good sentinel. It was a good buy. But it is not a combat capable aircraft which is not a criticism because it has not been designed to be.

Most nations go for the Su-30 rather than the Mig-29. Su-30 has recorded kills against Mig-29s. Su-30 is also a multi-role fighter. Price between the 2 isn't much, thus it's always better to go for the Su-30.

Don't forget the high maintenance of mig-29....
