Depends on the level of comfort.

Mush had a huge following in the USA / UK when he used English in press conferences.

It really depends on specific leaders.

I mean why would even be questioning the whole concept of

On a closing note I would say, tooti hui angrezi bol lain gay just to become more "modren", but won't speak "paindu" Urdu...this is a general observation in the public I have made.

Beleive me,

I love to speak urdu (Lkhanavi style) among Urdu speaking friends.

But with Sindhis, I'd use as much Sindhi even tooti phooti.

With Punjabis I'd use Punjabi even tooti phooti

When traveling through different countries,

my first sentence is always local (French, Arabic etc. ) depending on where I am
then switch to English.



When traveling to other countries, one cannot even say "I am proud paindu".

What on earth are you talking about.

Let's not mix local with international interaction.

I amt talking about official press conferences b/w two leaders or secretaries or whatever.

There are transnational facilities available and the local language gets translated to either English or into multiple different languages (as in UN).

Nobody is saying for you to speak Urdu while in Paris or Amsterdam or wherever.

That's all.

This should have been done step wise.
First we should make Urdu our official language in Pakistan and then when it is fully established here, then we should move on to abroad visits.

I would recommend the following:

1. Speeches in English in English speaking countries.
2. Speeches in Urdu in all non English speaking countries.

Where did I say we stop learning English...?
Where did I say we stop our education in English.....

First off all urdu is mainly 150 years old language. keep this in mind.

What you say about Urdu is more relevant to urban areas of Punjab and Sindh.
