PM, president to deliver speeches in Urdu on foreign trips, SC told

Urdu was contacting lingo before partition ... And now it is national language as per Quaid's wish and according to our constitution too ... So keep away your self to trolling this thread ... This is bad habit of Indians always try to ruin Pakistan related threads ......

what contracting lingo and what quaid . I said Urdu is not native to any province of Pakistan and neither you nor quaid can change it .

pathetic backward tribal thinking.

Foreign trips and speeches should be in the most convenient language for the hosts.

Preferably local language
if not then English.

Example

If PM is in Norway, he must used local language to connect to local people.
If however he is not comfortable with that, he should use English.

A language closet to the local people makes us better connect with them.

And why to forget that Pakistan is blessed with expertise in English rivaled only by a handful of regions around the world.

Other people look at us in awe when we can easily switch between English and Urdu and possibly a third language (like Punjabi, Pushto, Sindhi or Balochi).

This type of strength should be encouraged in today's global village.

Instead some of us want to drag us back to 1900 AD.

pathetic.
Oh bhai jaan, the French speak French in international meetings, the Chinese speak Chinese in international meetings, the Russians speak Russian in international meetings, the Germans speak German, and so on - are they ''dragging themselves back to 1900 AD''? Only we South Asians have some sort of inferiority complex about our languages and English.

It's better to speak Urdu and have an interpreter translate than to have our leaders make fools out of themselves by using broken English.

Our expertise in English is good and can remain the way it is, but it should not, under any circumstances, weaken our own national language. And if our leaders lack such expertise in English, they might as well speak in Urdu.

There is nothing pathetic about this.

Our official language is english, we are not looking for change in system we just making it more complicated to add more fazooliat so may it look better. We didn't decide yet what our educational system should be Urdu medium or English medium. It's like we quoting chocolate on a karella PM or PD speech should be in urdu. Tweet karo English mein speech karo urdu mein:p: what if next government of PPP and Bilwal is PM:cheesy: we know his urdu skill:D

People who are native of present Pakistan had made contacts by speaking Urdu with other people who lived in other parts of India ... Urdu had played vast role in Pakistan movement ... Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal themselves speak Urdu whereas it was not their native language ... That is why I called it contact lingo ... Urdu was the main medium for Muslims to be in contact with each other ... And national media is in Urdu too from day one ... So naturally it is national language of Pakistan ... Agar samajh aagai tau troll mat karna ......

Yes Urdu is now native ... You can ask to many people on PDF that in which lingo they think ... As well as Urdu is taught in Pakistan from Nursery ... Everything is in Urdu over here ......

Anyways this is our internal matter you should not be worried about it .......

Those arguing should make a note which everyone knows URDU is not native to any province of Pakistan . Agar language import karke impose karni ho toh wahi karo jiski global level pe relevance ho .

This isnt about hyper nationalism and wanting to impose our language and identity on others as a matter of pride. Rather its about allowing our official representatives to communicate in a language they are comfortable in so that they are able to give speeches whilst looking into the camera and without the "uhms" and "erms" and reading of pieces of paper which makes our country look like a joke. Urdu is the lingua franca in the country as per the wishes of Quaid. As such it is a language the majority (excluding those living in remote rural areas) are comfortable with in contrast to alien English which only graduates from well off backgrounds are largely competent in (although exceptions exist ofc). So the history of Urdu or what its state was pre independence in Pakistan is irrelevant. Whats important is rather that today it is the lingua franca and today is the languags a large proportion of our official representatives would be more comfortable speaking in, in contrast to English.

Good and long waited step but will be difficult and hard for those Pakistanis who still think that Pakistan is colony of UK. UK left many kalley angreez behind
