yet another example of stone age tribal thinking.
Sorry to see.
Beleive me,
I love to speak urdu (Lkhanavi style) among Urdu speaking friends.
But with Sindhis, I'd use as much Sindhi even tooti phooti.
With Punjabis I'd use Punjabi even tooti phooti
When traveling through different countries,
my first sentence is always local (French, Arabic etc. ) depending on where I am
then switch to English.
.
You are mixing up a lot of things.
Learning foreign languages should be appreciated, but when it comes to official dealings and teaching in schools, it should always be done in the national language. It has been proven world wide, that kids learn in their native/national languages much faster than in a foreign language - say English.
There is a reason why Germany, France, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Lativa, Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, South Korea, China, Russia, Japan, Vietnam, Argentina, Brazil etc etc etc... teach in their native languages and also when on official tours speak only their national language.
But that does not stop you from learning foreign languages. On the contrary, learning every new languages opens a new world for you. Learn it for fun, for interaction with people but not as a status symbol as is unfortunately the case with English.
