You may be wrong, the Quid was not in circulation in Pakistan at all. Infact the Quid or the British pound was never officially used in the Raj as such, with the Indian Rupee being in circulation since then.

However, during the first Kashmir war there was NO democracy at all. The decision was made by the governor general elect of the time who at the time of early days was essentially a popular leader and his immediate successor too went through no true electoral process.

The perception amongst Pakistanis I see is they trust their armed forces to run the country more than they trust the legislative body. Most Indians for example do not know who the general of the Indian army is, while I saw a thread in PDF where people were boasting about how lady MPs from Pakistan were taking selfies with the general while the president was giving a speech. People of Pakistan would back any move by the army (like Kargil war which was amongst Pakistan's biggest blunder) but would loathe to trust the prime minister/president. Unless this changes, it's always a dangerous situation. I don't think any Pakistani prime minister has served more than 3 years consecutively which goes on to say a lot.

Some of your content makes perfect sense, as long as you are being objective. But as soon as you guys go from being objective about a situation to being just an Indian.....the personal feelings come out and even your best logic gets colored with prejudice.

I agree with you 100%, Pakistanis have respect for their military, I think every country does. But its the military rule for decade that has used the media to put into people's heads that military's the only loyal institute. But as the democratic system is moving forward, this notion is changing.

No Pakistanis have seen free schools, access to a better future, access to better healthcare, basic services like the metro and better government funding schooling system. All this is happening because of the democratic system. The military has ONLY pushed the country backwards, scared off investors and has allowed the distribution of militia's in Gen. Zia's time.

But at this time, its working well. The "operating rhythm" has been found within the Pakistani Army and the Civilian government and that was missing. Btw, the previous government finished their term so its not true that no Pakistanis government has finished its term.

Its just the fact we did better under mil-rule than civil ones.

Loathe all the politicians.
THATS THE MOTTO!

Against India, it wasn't the military that fought... it was Pakistani Nation which did. PM Nawaz Shareef has insulted Nation and their sacrifices in wars. I demand an apology from him.

That being said, with the exception of the Kashmir crises of 47..all other conflicts with India were fought under military dictators and usually a result of their failed ambitions and policies. However, idiotic mistakes like 65 are not to be blamed only to racist bufoons like Ayub Khan as it was the supposed saviour of democracy in Bhutto who was a chief architect of that conflict.

The rest however, including 71 due to a womanising inept dictator known as Yahya unable to control a political fiasco created by the former racist dictator.. the Afghan conflict and its massive damages caused on Pakistan through radicalization.. the militant extremist dictator Zia.. . and while Nawaz goes ahead and makes these statements.. he forgets that the disaster known as Kargil was carried out by Musharraf during his own time; although in his defence he probably had no clue what Musharraf really wanted to do as he was too busy trying to usurp power to become "ameer ul momineen".

So then the question is, who really got the wars going? or is perhaps the question more along the lines that Pakistanis were and are essentially a militant society that need wars and enemies to keep themselves from turning on each other?

All others.. you mean even Kargil was fought under a military dictator?

So it was militry who decided to attack India in 1971? When wars are imposed on you, you don't see if you are wearing pajamas or knickers, you go out and grab your enemy's gut! No dramas and no democracy -or- not $hit works at that time.

Damn---Aqeel Siddiqui---the younger one and the older one---I don't remember!!!! Anwar Sikander Khan was the principal---Haneef Sahib was the vice principal----Maulana Abdul Rahman was the Islamic studies teacher---him I saw walking into the cinema on the inauguration of film Azra in 1967---what else.

I remember---I was in G3----there was a test----the teachers says----aik cricket match ka aankhon dekha haal batao----tell about a cricket match you saw---.

One of the kids---he was an artist took it literally-----. He was sitting in front of me at 45 deg-----this guy drew the picture of a team playing a match in the stadium on the test paper while we all were writing.

I remember my English teacher Mrs Nayyar and then there was Mr D'Souza----he smacked on the back of my neck one time and I pissed in my pants---wallah---Mrs Nayyar was so embarrassed---I was her top student in the class----what else----.

Good to know you still remember a lot. Never heard of any name except the principal, main hall of senior school is named after him. I joined as a boarder in late 90s, straight prep school.

No he did not---the teacher did not have the sense of humor-----I left in 30 years before you joined.

hi,

Here we go again....before becoming internet warrior...you need to learn about history more than just a bird eye view...! Even Air Chief and Naval Chief at that time were kept in the dark before that misadventure of the gang of fours..! PM ke toh baat he na karo ap..! Tons of material is available in the market. You will come to the conclusion yourself than..!

No Yousaf Raza Gillan And ZA Bhutto served more than 4 years.

So that he can live in India and spend what he has earned from Pakistan. After all India does not want a prosperous Pakistan :azn:
Wrong Again ! Would you like your neighbor living shabbily and spoiling beauty of your place ?

What sort of Urdu is it?
.
Cuz he isnt a pakistani. Going by his baiting posts on the forum looks like someone is just using pakistani flags for his agenda.

Barish honay ka imkaan hy, not gunjaish hay. Gunjaish doesn't mean probability, however usage of Ahtamal/Ihtimal is also justified.

Sorry emmie bahi quoting u again but afaik ehtimal is used in the sense of probability to describe the possiblity of some risky event happening. However, amkaan can be used for both ,showing risk or not.

Army Chief's Statement;
PM's Statement;
& what a funny thought I have in my mind, our COAS is again on
Siri Lanka's tour
Omg!! Thst was wicked.lolz

I dont buy NS's lies that he hadnt given approval for kargil war.

The same war was put off and not pushed cuz benazir hadnt allowed it during her premiership days----per her interview that iwatched.

!

What exactly did you do "better" under military rule??? Please highlight some serious challenges which were addressed in the "amazing military rule". Did the mighty little generals think about elecric production and the needs for future? Did they bring in investment to grow the country (not that they would get a dime in investment, no one in the civilized world wants to deal with dictators), did they create internal project which would turn around the economy? Did they do anything to the Healthcare system? Highways like motorways, network of Industrial parks and associated power generation so the industry keeps running and people keep working?
Both Mushy and Zia's time, the US's treasury box was open and the dollars were flowing in. Because of that, the transportation system and other supportive industries were TEMPORARILY increasing production. The US cut the dollars down, the economy went down into ditch. What's the role of any military general in this?

Pakistani economist gave growth plans to Saudia and South Korea in the 60's. Look where they are at......and look where Pakistan was at till 3 years ago. You see a difference??? Do tell me from items give above as to where the Generals used their business sense to do anything to take Pakistan forward. I'd love to see your response.
