PM Nawaz Sharif message to army : wars are fought in martial law era not in democracy

hi,

All others.. you mean even Kargil was fought under a military dictator?

So it was militry who decided to attack India in 1971? When wars are imposed on you, you don't see if you are wearing pajamas or knickers, you go out and grab your enemy's gut! No dramas and no democracy -or- not $hit works at that time.

Yes it was. If you really read about Kargil, it was Musharraf's cabal that thought it up and executed it withholding key details from the civillians and even the other branches of the armed forces.. how insulting to the PAF and PN!.

And in 71, the war was already lost when Mujib made his demands.. demands that got there because of total political fiasco due to military dictators running the country.

Don't worry there are some like me who have studied in school in Pakistan but Urdu was not compulsory in that school...Later went for higher studies abroad so what ever was learnt has also been forgotten.

Thanks man .. this is the case with many. I know here few Pakistani girls who go to some islamic centre to learn Arabi but unfortunately not urdu. Any ways..larki se baat karne ke liye bass bolni ani chahiye :P

these are all off topic posts. No personal details can be given sorry brother :)
You said you are from Islamabad...tell me some areas or locations or anything only a person who spent some time in Islamabad can..for ex opening of any shopping complex recently

he is factually wrong though from kashmir war to kargil war both under elected governments

Kargil doesn't qualify as war as per Pak perspective.

Honestly, were pakistanis feeling at war that time?

why you care about our feeling? Nawaz and you guys call it Kargil war dont you?
instead of anal bleaching my comment just read what posted. that he is factually wrong that all wars were during martial laws. they were not especially not the first and the second one. one can bitch and moan about 65 and 71 but not Nawaz because during that time his party was part of the ruling setup.

I just want to know whether PDF has a sane voice from pak

Kabhi Isb mei apko ghusne dia jaye toh F block ki Jinnah market ghoom lena. Zada agey mat jana wahan ek soonsaan road hai. Zada chalak or taiz bache waha kidnap ho jatey hai samjh aya apkey. ab aap muh dhoney jaye :)

Kargil war was not sanctioned by any democratic government, neither it was backed by the local population.

If you yourself is not anal bleaching Nawaz statement, his context was that democratic government are not pro war but only army is.

Even 47 wasn't waged by any democratically elected government. May be I am wrong in this case.

Tell democracy to sod off if it brings with it such statements, wars are fought when wars need to be fought, when the borders of this country are threatened, when we see countries running proxy wars against us, that is when wars are fought. Time for this PM to stand up for the nation, not against it.
I refuse to accept democracy if it makes us cowards, if it goes against our army which lays down their lives for us, what use is democracy if it will turn the nation into slaves of vested interests.

Yea and no talk of 65? No talk of 47 Kashmir war? Good! Since words have came out of somebody you politically support, worst of his judgements and worst of his words have to be defended. Its all or non - he is all saint or all stupid.

Prime Minister of Pakistan was given briefing by Musharaf and the only disagreement is that the scale of operation was different than told. So even Kargil wasn't under a dictator - and elected PM, the democratically elected PM, the Nawaz Shareef who calls himself PM was aware of that. So that too wasn't under a dictator.

Perhaps you are ignorant(whether willingly or unwillingly) of the first paragraph of my post before that. But that is common for Pakistanis. I have no idea whose support you are referring to, but apart from 47 whose circumstances were laid out by Jinnah(unless you consider him no more than Fatima ka Bhai) for his attempt at gaining the maximum land for Pakistan.

65 was Ayub Khan who since 58 had usurped power to rule Pakistan. A look at history books might help. Even then I have acknowledged(again, if you read you would know) that Op Gibraltar and Op Grand Slam had a lot of Bhutto's machinations in them.

As for Kargil, the laughable idea that the "scale" of operation was different than he was told. I wonder where else in the world the supposed chief of the Army who is answerable to the Prime minister of the country which you seem to emphasize so much has the gall to do something different than what he told his commander in chief. However, because you are making an utmost effort to paint the military dictators innocent.. hypocrisy in judgement is valid.
