Kashmiris are soft hearted. Without external 'support' (ideological/material), anti Indian feelings is sure to recede.I was more than happy when I read this on FB and felt like sharing it here.

The Muslims in the valley, historically have followed a very soft and lenient version of Islam; thanks to the penetration of Sufi mysticism there in the 14th century. Their religious belief had played very a significant part in the Kashmir dispute back in 47'.Kashmiris are soft hearted. We are not Iraqis/ME people that we will bay for blood all the time.
True. Even Lal Dedh (patron saint) had many poems written about Shiva(Kashmir's fav deity) as well. Yet, here comes the contradiction - all Sufi shrines were destroyed in the last 2 decades. Some have been rebuilt, renovated, put back together now though. The Muslims in the valley, historically have followed a very soft and lenient version of Islam; thanks to the penetration of Sufi mysticism there in the 14th century. Also if you check now - after the 2005 (earthquakes when Army helped a lot)many Kashmiris are moving out and working/studying etc all over India. For Kashmiris this is a huge thing. My grandfather had never moved beyond Sialkot(now in Pak) and Ludhiyana! Even two decades back such was the case! Now many are overcoming the hatred/fear. Greater interaction has a normal and obvious effect. A Bihari(for example) gets to know that a Kashmiri can be a lady killer(not literally) but not a monster. (sure a few are, but now things have changed). Also the Kashmiri comes to know that the Hindu/Indian is not a Kashmiri hater/rapist maniac. This breaks boundaries quicker and 2 months down the line you see them become more liberal than us!
Bangalore has a huge Kashmiri expat community(mostly Muslim) We even have a Wazwan restaurant in HSR Layout So called 'conservative Kashmiris' will beat even Punjabis in gulping pegs (often much to my annoyance)
Had this been Swat, I would have said - bullets are the only solution. But in Kashmir, I am glad the Indian forces have adopted a largely correct policy.

There is also a rumor in the Valley - that the flood is a curse from Kausernag(for killing/driving out Pandits). Ancient tradition states that if He is disturbed, He brings destruction by flooding Kashmir back to nothing! Also Mattan (the only Hindu area) was untouched! This fueled more superstitions.
Never donate to NGOs. Most are frauds. Bharat Sevasram Sangh/RSS/ PM Fund even Jamaat can be trusted. My colleague is a Kashmiri and is collecting funds right now . He will himself along with his friends go and help people over there as NGO's are rampantly corrupt . So if anyone planning to donate i can introduce him to you guys and he will give you expense of every penny .

The new generation hardly knows about us. And a strange kind of hatred is there. I can't explain it. If you come out with a tikka on your head, you will hear some slangs. But you ask for help, and they will help! It's kinda shallow, I guess.Kashmiris still love their Pandit brothers .I am sure about that
