I support getting rid of white elephants any way possible.

Government should not be running businesses unless there is some very compelling reason.

PPP have really really screwed all Government Owned Enterprises. PIA was doing very well during '80s because Zia ul Haq got rid of political PPP appointees. Once PPP came to power in late '88, they reinstated all the political appointees and gave them back-pay. Even more political appointees were stuffed into PIA during BB's first stint. PML government cleaned these leeches, but whenever PPP came back, these leeches were reinstated with back-pay. The problem is with twisted and outdated service rules that allow this to happen. PML-N is not going to dismiss political appointees because they would just come back and be given bloody back-pay, which they do not deserve, at the expense of organizations that have already sunk. This leaves me and you to subsidize these leeches via our taxes. Therefore getting rid of these non performing organizations via privatization is essential for economic improvement. Detractors do not matter one bit. They are opposing just because they are out of government.

Even now PPP is gearing up to challenge much-needed dismissals and privatization. And PTI is indirectly supporting PPP in this by creating un-needed fuss.

For economic stabilization, PML-N is good enough. Until PTI shows some positive result - ACTUAL positive result - they need not be given even two minutes of attention. PTI's pressure keeps PML-N looking at PPP for indirect support and if someone can really muck up privatization, it is PTI, not PPP.

Privatisation will lead to prosperity of PIA which is not at all possible now with all the "leeches" attached to it as said by one of my friends earlier. Private companies do not run in loss and do not at all bear un necessary people so this is the only way to make the airline again a rising one.
