PIA Privatized!

As far as i know PIA has alot of problems. The South Asian market is hard business. They need alot of reforms to be competitive. I wish them all sucess. The privatisation can help them a lot,.

PIA used to be one of the Top Airlines in the World.

PIA became the first Airline to introduce Jet Aircrafts in Asia when it wet leased Boeing 707 in March 1960.

PIA staff helped establish and train the employees of Emirates.

PIA was ruined by the Politicians who started using it as a dumping ground for their incompetent unemployed workers.

On the other thread you are complaining about Government taxing the solar panels , On this thread you are complaining about Government selling money losing crown corporation costing billions upon billions per year.

SO it looks like you dont wanna pay any tax, But wanna enjoy all the benefits.

As far as you Hen comments is concerned. They are also killed and eaten after they stop giving eggs. PIA should be sold at any cost even if we only get $1.

During my last travel with PIA, in my flight there are almost 3 Air hostesses of almost my Mothers age, and remember my mother is now 56!
A Air hostesses present at door of plane for welcome was around the age around 56+, another Male serpent also present in plane with the age of around 50+. and who is serving dinner and tea also, by saying " Dinner , Khana" " Dinnar Khana".

I traveled with my many Domestic Airlines, but that last journey was terrible!

Age of cabin crew is not the issue here. As long as they have proper training and provide good service, I see no issue with old air hostesses. PIA's real issues are corruption, over staffing, lack of leadership, political appointments and so on.

PIA has the worst plane : worker ratio - that is its biggest problem. PIA has been a 'employment maker' for successive civilian govt's esp PPP. people are recruited in PIA without rhyme or reason. hence the losses in billions/year. political appointees as MD - PIA and other senior posts who know nothing about the aviation business. no fleet replacement plan as only 19 of 40 a/c are serviceable.not a single flight runs on time. PIA needs more than privatization.

TurkishAirways is evrything but not a giant. Giants are Lufthansa, BA, Air France, Emirates, ANA, Delta and so on.

Air France has a fleet of 245 aircrafts and flies to 208 destinations.

Turkish Air Lines has a fleet of 257 aircrafts and flies to 250+ destinations and has won multiple awards in past years including the best airlines of Europe and so on.

Even this year, it was ranked in top ten best airlines of the world.

I wonder what makes Air France a "giant" but not Turkish Air Lines?

PIA has a corruption problem. It is hard to build up a renomee when you face already hard competition. In the end you must ask a simple question:

What can PIA offer that customers would chose it?

Geo-strategic Location of Pakistan makes it perfect to be a major hub of air-travel..

Privatization of national carrier is futile. You can downsize it if you think its loosing too much.

fixing things is the key, not selling the assets to a greedy elite.. I wish for a powerful representative govt not powerful Two families and their industrialist cronies and stupid pawns !
