What's new

People of karachi and Malir are with PPPP

This assumes that the urban Sindhi's 'connection' to the interior remains fixed or constant.

I don't think it will.

Eventually, the urban Sindhi in Karachi will become a Karachiite (as the issues that afflict the city apply to everyone under a certain wealth bracket) in terms of their interests and priorities.

We have to acknowledge that the issues with Karachi aren't ethnic, but from a simple fact: the PPP is exploiting a rich urban centre.

The PPP may be able to buy time by relying on the demographic change, but eventually, they will reach the end of the road. Whoever's left in Karachi will continue to call for the same autonomy and benefits we're hearing today.

Thank you for this

As a born Karachiite, it is sickening to hear the remarks of most of the people on this thread. Goes to show how poorly Karachi is understood by the rest of the country.

The PPP is like a colonial power, their tentacles extend into every sphere of society. The bureaucracy, police and courts are in their pocket. The business community has been crippled by incessant brutality in the form of 'bhatta' taxes by the police and local governments all of whom are under the influence of illiterate Sindhis from the interior.
University professors, city utilities officials, police officers, doctors in govt hospitals - all are recruited based on an inflated 'Sindh (rural)' quota. Every govt university in Karachi has a fixed quota for Sindhi students from the rural areas, yet universities in the rest of Sindh do not have any quota for students from urban districts (Karachi, Hyderabad, etc).

It is worse than the mafia. Sitting PPP ministers are known drug barons who have built empires by ruining thousands of young lives. Government colleges have been systematically ruined by recruiting 'ghost' teachers. The provincial secondary education boards deliberately misplace students' exam answer sheets and transcripts just so that they can demand hefty bribes.

It is a criminal empire and we, the people are too weak, too divided to do anything. And this too has been done systematically. A national approach is needed to throw out the PPP forever. Or else, the country must remember that Sindh and the jewel in its rusty crown - Karachi - will go down forever.

A national perception

*Biased Perception

In the Karachi’s Malir constituency, PPP's Yousuf Baloch has defeated PTI’s Jan Sher Junejo and Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) Sajid Ahmed, according to unofficial results.

=======
bottom line for karachites, please organize karachi first
re-census will not solve Karachi problem, as PPPP will still win per my calculations even if karachi gets 50% seats vs 30% it holds now

You are an elite member. Your status will require to do little bit of research before posting threads with highly misleading and provocative headline.

Do you know what Malir is? It is basically rural Sindh which over the time got engulfed into ever expanding Karachi. This particular seat was vacated by the death of winning candidate in last election who belonged to PPP and now his son has replaced him. A typical case of STD (sexually transmitted democracy).

Bottom line is, Karachites voted for change in last election, gave PTI 14 seats in parliament, yet the Takheet-e-Lahore, still belong to the thugs and corrupts of Nawaz clan , and "son of the soil" Imran Khan only managed to bag 4 seats.

So who needs organization? Karachites or Lahoris? Do your math.

US wants PPP to run southern Pakistan.

Whoever believes this was a fair and free election must get his bearings checked.

The demographic changes made to Malir district are no secret either.

Thank you for your concern, but it is better if you can save your self fellatio skills for Fazlur ur Rehman Friday sermon.
Leave the more intellectual topics for the more educated members on this forum.

Ok. Have it your way then.

If my memory serve, the notorious PPI alliance formed to fight off MQM in the dark days of Karachi, had presence in Malir/Model colony. This locality has always been diverse.

There is no blueprint of the city available to conduct census or any sort of elections.

Its a false assumption that only PPP has the advantage in 'diverse' neighbourhood. What the hell is diverse in Karachi, do explain it to me.

this seat is traditionally belong to PPP
All politics is local - even in strong Democrat/Republican regions in the US, there are constituencies that go to the opposing party that may have no chance of winning the City, District or State. Not sure whether this is applicable in Pakistan, but gerrymandering (tweaking the boundaries of constituencies to make them more favorable to one party or another) has also played a roll in allowing Republicans especially to win more House and State House seats in States that typically vote Democratic.

Viewing Karachi is a monolithic entity that is not divided along ethnic, political and religious lines would be a massive mistake. There are areas where the PTI can focus resources and be successful and there are areas that will remain strongholds of the PPP due to various factors and then there areas that will be genuinely competitive due to the role of other parties and/or political alliances/seat adjustments etc.

You saying that Malir demography was "changed", that is incorrect. It has been diverse/varible , well, as far as I remember.
