Imran requests SC to dismiss plea calling for his disqualification

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday requested the Supreme Court to dismiss Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi’s constitutional petition seeking Khan’s disqualification.

The PTI leader’s counsel Naeem Bukhari moved a three-page reply over the PML-N leader’s plea.

The application states that Abbasi is trying to show his loyalty to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif whose legality is still to be established by a Joint Investigation Team.

“The petitioner is himself an accused in the ephedrine case and he filed the petition against Imran Khan to counter his petition against Sharif family in the Panamagate case.”

The three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar will take up the petition tomorrow (Wednesday).

Although i hate Hanif Abbasi too..but Imran Khan ko chahye ke jo bhi hai..poori details SC ke saamnay rakhay...aur NS ki tarah bahanay baazi na karay SC main.. Proper money trail of eveything should be produced in SC..na ke is tarah ki baatein..ke i am being politically victimised etc etc.. He should not behave like NS in SC...

As per Dr. Shahid Masood in his talk show on News One, The SC of Pakistan has constituted a new bench comprising of the three Judges who said a JIT is to be formed to investigate further. It is said Justice Aijaz Afzal will head the three member bench. I cannot find this news anywhere so far so cannot comment further.

I believe Justice Aijaz Afzal is the judge who has been referred to as 'The Advocate' in this thread?

Kuch keh nahi saktay.. I am confused abt one thing now.. Will Justiec Khosa and Justice Gulzar's verdict still be counted..in the final verdict or not?
Do we need tht one more judge is convinced....so tht will make 3 against Nawaz Shafif?? Ya phir ye hoga ke kiun ke ab sirf in 3 judges ki verdict implement horahi hai..tu inn main se majority vote chahye hoga..matlab atleast 2 more??

Waisy lag tu yeh raha hai ke only one more judge is required..but this isnt confirmed yet.. I think kal ye baat clear hojayegi..

Actually mujhe Advocate aur pakora judge se koi ziada achi umeed nahi hai.. Justice Ijazul Ahsan convince hosaktay hain...

General consensus is that votes of Justice Khosa and Gulzar will be counted as this is kind of sub bench of the original bench.

I do not see N$ getting any further damage from this bench - it could very well be 3-0 for N$ and original verdict of 3-2 will stand.

If tht is the case...then I think Justice Ijazul Ahsan can be convinced..so it can make 3-2 against Nawaz Sharif

Let's see, it will be more clear when names of JIT comes out as it's guaranteed that SECP, SBP, FIA and NAB will do whatever in their power and beyond to save N$ - now its three member bench vs State of Pakistan.
