To me it is all according to a plan, create hype, gather attentions and with all eyes on you, start talking good about NS. Those favorable comments coming from a person like Ch. Nisar who is this case is bring portrayed as a true patriotic Pakistani and an honest man will actually hold MUCH MORE WEIGHT than what Daniyal Aziz or Talal Chaudray will have! It seems that this is all just to do a high profile press conference in FAVOR of NS! That is it. lets see!
Servant of devil .worship him also with honesty .loyality. and complete faith. Does that chance the fact. When all like a like will burn in hell. Ch nisar is no different . .... hounds of hell

.
People are expecting too much from that upcoming Ch. Nisar press Conference. I think it is just a diversion. Awain attention divert kr raha ha, we should stay focused, the nation and our institutions should stay focused. There wont be any BIG NEWS in that press conference. I think he will just bash the speculations and rumors of him leaving PMLN and will announce that he is going to stay with the party.

Awain dhool jhoonk raha ha hmari ankoon mein.

@ red I agree 100% .. This is what, he will do..

Infact he will start his pressconference by saying..

ISLAMABAD: The damning JIT report may have drawn ire of the powerful ruling bigwigs who hardly spare an opportunity to reject and ridicule the investigation document and slam its authors, the opinion of the general public on the issue seems different.

At a time when the PML-N leadership has had its guns blazing, with party stalwarts boisterously calling the JIT report a part of ‘conspiracy’ to send the democratic order packing, at least two instances have surfaced lately where the JIT members have been accorded a hero’s welcome and that too by the general public.

On Tuesday, when SECP representative in the JIT Bilal Rasool visited the Islamabad Club to do the gym, he was warmly welcomed by the members. People present there recognised him and hailed his ‘bold’ contribution to the probe and his co-authoring the ‘daring’ report despite the serious life threats and the professional challenges the investigation panel reportedly faced.

A member of the Islamabad Club, Rasool used to visit the club’s gym. However, he stopped visiting the club after being assigned the job of probing the Sharif family’s offshore properties as his security, along with that of other JIT members, was increased.

On his first visit to the club after a while, Rasool was pleasantly surprised at the reception he received by the club members who took pride in shaking hands with him, exchanging greetings and taking selfies.

Separately, JIT Chairman Wajid Zia received a similar warm welcome on a visit to the Islamabad Club.

Zia, who came to the club in Rangers protection, was easily recognised by members of the club as well as staff.

A senior government official reportedly kissed the JIT chief on his forehead for “doing a great service to the nation”.

Zia was quoted as having thanked those present there, and saying that the JIT members, irrespective of all pressures, did their job to the best of their abilities and conscience to bring out the truth.

We have done our job, the rest is up to the superior court,” he referred to the crucial Panamagate case in the Supreme Court.

The Express Tribune tried to contact Rasool but his cellphone number was switched off. Zia, meanwhile, did not respond to calls and messages for his comments on the issue.

They truly deserve it!!!

SECP Chairman Zafar Hijazi

ISLAMABAD: While the SECP chairman has been arrested on charges of tempering with records, the Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) has dropped a serious audit objection that it had initially framed against Zafar Hijazi’s ‘irregular appointment’.

In its ‘Audit and Inspection Report’ on the SECP, the AGP had termed Hijazi’s appointment ‘irregular’ and sought recovery of salary and other benefits enjoyed by him as chief of the financial regulatory agency.

However, the audit objection has been dropped due to some external pressures, according to sources in the AGP. The audit objection has not been printed in the final report which will now be laid before parliament through the President of Pakistan, said sources.

In its earlier report, the AGP had pointed out that Hijazi’s appointment was against the SECP Act of 1997. The directorate general audit had highlighted the illegality while auditing the SECP accounts from year 2000 to 2015, according to the initial audit objection available with The Express Tribune.

SECP chairman Zafar Hijazi arrested for tampering with record of Sharifs’ companies

It was for the first time that the AGP conducted the SECP audit as the corporate sector regulator did not allow the federal auditors to scrutinise its accounts for many years.

In its earlier audit objection, the federal auditors had sought recovery of Rs28.1 million from Hijazi on account of the salary he received from Dec 2014 till Feb 2016 when the AGP pointed out this illegality.

In December 2014, the finance ministry appointed Hijazi as SECP commissioner for three years. Hijazi is considered a close confidante of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

While explaining its objections to Hijazi’s appointment, the AGP had noted that under Section 7(I) of the SECP Act of 1997, a commissioner shall hold office for a term of two years and shall retire on the expiration of that term and may be reappointed for a further term of three years.

Record tampering: SECP chairman gets interim pre-arrest bail

The audit department had observed that Hijazi was initially appointed as commissioner in Dec 1998 and his tenure was extended in 2000 till Dec 2003, when he completed his five-year term.

“Thereafter, he was not eligible for appointment as Commissioner/Chairman in the SECP as per section 7 of the Act,” said the audit objection.

It added that the chairman was also drawing pension from the SECP as its retired commissioner at the rate of Rs29,329 per month in addition to drawing salary as its incumbent chairman.

“The legal status regarding decisions taken during present tenure of the chairman is questionable,” the AGP had observed while terming his appointment irregular.

SECP chairman Zafar Hijazi granted bail till July 17

The sources said after the AGP printed the objection in its report, Hijazi exerted pressure through various channels.

At that time, Rana Assad Amin was the Auditor General. But the sources said the audit objection was settled at the level of the director general and the deputy auditor general of Pakistan.

A senior official of the AGP said the department settled the audit objection in the light of legal opinion provided by the SECP to the AGP. He said the Ministry of Law had termed Hijazi’s appointment lawful. The sources in SECP said Hijazi accommodated many people to appease his opponents.

The chairman hired about 125 persons, including contract employees, regular and outsource, during his two-year tenure in the SECP. Before Hijazi became chairman, the total number of SECP’s regular employees was 380, which has now risen to 500

I am flabbergasted by the logic you put forward. How do I prove that I breath oxygen. I am lost for words.

Should I contest or should I rest my case till a verdict is out.

Read the judgment. The concerns of the judges who decided against disqualification weren't addressed in the JIT report. Unless they backtrack (which they won't) they won't rule 62/63. In their judgment they've all made it clear they think Nawaz Sharif is corrupt but according to the 3 there is not enough evidence that Nawaz was dishonest. 1) the 3 have disregarded the false speeches and that won't change 2) they wanted to see if Nawaz lied about his Mayfair properties. The JIT was able to prove Maryam is the owner but have failed to show she was dependent on Nawaz. 3) there is no evidence that shows Nawaz lied on his ECP forms.

Now they have to decide whether or not not disclosing material facts amounts to dishonesty. From the judgements it is unlikely to go that way.

In the end the judges know Nawaz is corrupt. They also know that know one will be able to touch him if they don't disqualify him. However, in their opinion it would be against the law to dismiss him based on 62/63 on the basis of the evidence present. I hope I'm wrong.

Dawn seems to agree

The non disqualifying judges have already implied they don't care what happens in the trial courts.

Nawaz sharif will get technical justice. This might break up the federation--there have already been allegations that a Punjabi PM is treated differently.

If the other two judges can disqualify so can these.

This is what's going to happen in the trial court.

If the other two judges can disqualify so can these.
Not really. Read the judgment. The two judges had a different criteria for 62/63. The other three saw things differently. The won't go against their own judgments.

And maybe now they will see things differently.

You're acting like a seer, when noone knows which way the judges will go.

We will have to see what they decide when they decide. Nothing is written in stone.
