What's new

Pakistan's financial capital Karachi turned 'into rubbish bin'

move to Karachi, by all means do so, but dont engage in land grabbing, water and electricity theft and claim it a right. most of the people who move here dont buy or rent legal property, they prefer slums, or jsut claim any empty land as theirs, how is that justified? the land running alongside gujjar nala is covered with illegal settlements, the hill range(containing the kati-pahari) is filled with slums, and people living there proudly engage in drug peddling and smuggling as well as electricity and water theft.

And pray tell why did you ignore my other questions, as for land grabbing is this solely the occupation of "outsiders" :). Let's not be so nieve

.
Ask yourself why is it that places like Banaris bridge, Katti Pahari, golimar were no-go areas until Rangers Operation?
and who lives in those areas? who made them into no go areas?

was a slum back then too, and guess what happened to the land of old sabzi mand? take a guess.

Essa Nagri was a slum back in the 80's? What planet are you on?

. . .
You tell me since you are the one who brought up the issue of racism? Is it just the "ANP" or did you forget about the "Party"??
tell me please, who lives in and around kati-pahari, and banaras?

Don't play the politician, you are the one who brought up the issue of Racism and divisive ethnopolitics. So you tell me, you are a "Researcher" after all, don't regurgitate my question back at me, show some initiative and answer me if you have the local know-how. What happened back in 2011?

.
And who else? What's the matter, tonguetied?
no, just amused at the selective memory that you have. miles upon miles of area, extending from the hills to masroor air base to sohrab goth, all taken over by a certain ethnic group. but PARTY is bad. yes it is. look at my past posts on this forum, many have been against the PARTY, but it looks like everyone just overlooks the fact that others are equally bad.

people of certain ethnicity living around sohrab goth started taking people off the buses and killing them? or people like uzair baloch started massacring innocents?

still have not answered the question.

Did I not agree with you when I said that "elements" within the Pashtoon community are engaging in criminal activity or did you selectively on read the words in my post that triggered the appropriate response?

still have not answered the question.
You can't force someone to answer a question, that HE asked you first! It's the first step to forming a discussion! :)

Oh and I suppose the torching of Pashtoon shops had nothing to do with this escalation? :agree:

oh, and I suppose killing innocents has got nothing to do with this situation. Interestingly enough it was ttp who put an end to ANP's reign of terror, I know this because I used to live near Sohrab Goth, near Abbas Town.
We were afraid to leave our houses, as many of the houses had been taken over by ANP, in the end it was the heavily bearded terrorists instead of the clean shaved ones who put an end to this nightmare.

those elements, unfortunately, are the ones who dominate Pashtoon politics here, much like MQM. still waiting for a rangers raid on ANP hq in Karachi and the arrest warrant of Shahi Syed just like MQM's leadership

That is the ANP, and we all know what type of Pashtoon supports the ANP, come now. You cannot label the entire Pashtoon community as terrorist supporting, criminal ethnofascists. Personally, I am glad ANP got their arse handed to them in Karachi. They had the same treatment in KP after PTI win, ask yourself that if every Pashtoon supported the vile hate spewed by the likes of Asfandyar Wali, why then did they vote PTI!.

that maybe, but that still does not resolve the issue of illegal settlements, mass immigration again leading to more and more encroachments, and that leading to all sorts of social problems.

Usually countries pay more attention to their Capital and cities of economic importance. Its a shame that Pakistan is stuck with such politicians that not interested in making Pakistan reach its full potential

Agree with your concerns on this, obviously a system designed to support x number of people will creak and strain under the load of xyz number of people coming in. Not just that, but internal migration as you said brings socio-economic, environmental and health hazards aswell!

We have no sense of sanitation and our cities portray this mentality...few weeks back..Chinese company was contracted to collect garbage in the city..their scope of work should be expanded..
