'Pakistan's attempt to reconcile with Bangladesh will fall flat'

I don't know what is the need of such rapprochement. Any effort in this direction will be futile as long as Hasina Wajid is alive.

If a simple phone call from the Pakistani PM to the Bangladeshi PM can create so much confusion and shock in the enemy camp, then why not.

After India did put Bangladesh with Pakistan and Afghanistan in regards to the racist CAA bill.

On the other hand, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis live very peacefully together outside of South Asia (personal experience) so I dont know why Pakistan and Bangladesh can't improve relations.

Only India seeks to sow discord between the two Muslim nations but the racist CAA bill has exposed India in a manner that it makes India look like a glimmering racist country targeting Pak-Bangla.

NRC is racist CAA is not racist. This is because CAA does not affect Indian Muslim's, its about giving citizenship to persecuted minorities living in muslim majority Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

It affects Indian Muslim. As if nationwide NRC is done in case any Muslim can’t show documents upto 1951 their citizenship will be stripped but non Muslim under CAA can get citizenship. And why it is only targeted for places where there is a huge Muslim presence? Why Sri Lankan Tamil Hindus and Christians from Bhutan, Buddhist from Tibet is excluded? One does not needs to be Einstein to find out the reason.

Dhaka: The recent telephonic interaction between Pakistan and Bangladesh amid India-China tensions has intrigued New Delhi over the next course of action Dhaka might take.

On July 22, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan called his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina wherein they exchanged greetings and discussed the flood and COVID-19 situations in both countries, Bangla News 24 quoted statements released from the prime minister's office.

Bangla News 24 reported that if Bangladesh responds positively to Pakistan's call, it will clear its stance on India-China clash.

"He (Imran Khan) called to talk about COVID-19 and flood situations. It was nothing but a simple courtesy call. It is good if they (Pakistan) can improve relations with us," Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen was quoted as saying.

He said that the country has not forgotten Pakistan's gruesome killing of some 30 lakh Bangladeshis and rape of hundreds of thousands of women during the Liberation War in 1971.

"However, Pakistan has not yet apologised for the genocide it committed during the 1971 Liberation War. We want to maintain friendship with everyone but how is that possible if they could not make an apology," Momen noted.

While Islamabad may seem to be trying hard to smooth its relationship with Dhaka, it had recently adopted resolutions against the war crimes trial of Bangladesh wherein some major criminals were hanged for committing crimes against humanity in 1971.

There are also allegations against Pakistan for being involved in activities to influence Bangladesh's internal politics and to instigate unrest.

State Minister for Shipping, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, was quoted as saying, "Both Bangladesh and Pakistan are SAARC countries. Two Prime Ministers can talk about any issues regarding South Asia."

"However, there are still some unresolved issues between us. If they want to strengthen relations, then they have to resolve those first. Bangladesh gained independence through bloody war, not through table discussion," he said.

@ topic :
though we don't care but looks like some people in our east are really burning.

They (ANI and Indiatimes dot com) are soiling their 'Tutta huye dhoti' over the govt. changes in Bangladesh-Pakistan relations. Modi cow-towing media.

You can tell when they're powerless, they scream at the top of their lungs.

Playing cricket with Bangladesh for me is enough. No point in anything larger than that. Even try religious reason .... hahaha .....

.
why does it matter?

you separated citing race and language.
No, it was certainly not race and language. We cite these sometimes that show our ignorance. In reality, it was the 2,200 km distance between two wings that caused rifts between the two groups of leaders.

Our people were not supportive of separation until it was the 26 March early morning manslaughter by PA troops.

. .
Bangladesh and Pakistan have natural synergy because of the same religion, the same national heroes, and even our street names on our same national heroes. So, there is a lot of miscommunication created by India. Hope will be resolved between and start exchange people's connections soon.IK should consider removing visa restrictions to allow people connections easily between the two countries.

How selfish humans are....since now we are in dire straits, suddenly we have this brotherly love for Bengalis.
Weren't they have same religion and same heroes to us when West Pakistanis massacred and raped them in millions? And off course, why wouldn't our enemy spread miscommunication? they are not wrong...we were wrong to provide them this opportunity.

It was always race and language.

Bangladeshi Army has a record of using hard hand as well on dissidents. I don't see you guys wanting separation now.

It was East Pakistan and Pakistan Army.

Bold Part: In the case of India, there are many nationalities and languages. But, they feel they are all same Indians. It is because of geographical continuity. It is same in Pakistan as well. It is a continuous land. Common history, religion and the continuous land have provided a base base of the Pakistani nationalism.

In the case of east Pakistan, the geographical continuity was missing except that both wings were Muslim majority with quite a few hundred years of common history. Anyway, separation is not something we wanted, but PA operation forced us separation.

East Pakistan Armed Forces had every constitutional right to engage the miscreants.

You have rebellious tendencies ingrained in your psyche

Better asked from your Modi , who in a ceremony during his Bangladesh tour said that former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had played an active role in separating Bangladesh from Pakistan and he also openly admitted that he had also come to Delhi in 1971 to participate in the Satyagraha Movement launched by Jana Sangh as a volunteer to garner support for 1. the Mukti Bahini members who wear the Pakistani army uniforms and massacred and raped million innocent bangalies and west Pakistani was in east Pakistan.

The higher number talked about was a deliberate attempt to defame and demoralize the Pakistani army, to demonstrate to the world extent of an Indian victory. It was also helpful in putting meat to the story of three million killed, hundreds, and thousands of rapes and genocide. 2. An army of less than 40,000, spread over a vast theatre of conflict under attack from guerrillas supported by the Indian army was hardly in a situation of doing what it was accused of. The total figure, a mix of soldiers and civilians, was deliberately floated by Indians, and later by Bangladeshis to support their victimization. In Pakistan, a clever Bhutto used this for various reasons for his politics. No one ever wanted to clarify. This is the right time for both countries that sit together and start communication and do a meritious investigation of what happens and who is the real culprit behind million people massacred on both sides.
