Well... not bad! The peculiar thing is that his friends family would'nt believe who he was . Which speaks volumes for the insular nature of the community who remain proud and distinct even as immigrants into a distant land. That in itself is a good thing... up to a certain point.
Then its an identity question :
Am I British, Musolmani Bengali, Bangladeshi, Sylheti,? Or all of these. How do others see us ?

The UK diaspora doesn't assimilate easily. In North America second generation Pakistanis, and Indian Muslims, get along fantastically well because they have melted into the melting pot as Americans. They simply call themselves American Muslims.
First American and then Muslim.
They take on the fascists head on.
