It's always nice to know more about such people, a small interview with a little background would be nice to read. That is from right? Dont remember the whole incident so had to look up on internet. Will like to read the details and i hope they are not glorified unnecessarily. The simple true facts are surely always enough in these cases to make us all proud.
May Allah grant him place in Jannat.
The Harban tribe of Kohistan and the Thor tribe of Diamer claim ownership of a piece of land spanning eight kilometres in Gandlo Nala area. People from both sides gathered on the road on Sunday, warning the authorities concerned of dire consequences if a settlement of the dispute could not be worked out soon.
Elders of the Thor tribe held a sit-in outside the deputy commissioner’s office in Chilas against the Harban tribe, accusing it of harassing the GB residents to keep pressure on the government to decide the matter in its favour.
Over 20 elders of Thor and representatives of the Thor Youth Organisation took part in the protest.
I totally agree with your suggestions @WAJsal bhai. The sooner this is done the better and no I do not believe it will hurt the Kashmiri cause like some have suggested.kudos@Gikmet Baltee , Chilas is a part of Gilgit Baltistan. It cannot be classified as pro-Kohistan, the current dispute between the two tribes is a typical thing and one of the tribe is Gilgiti. Meaning it is near Chilas area or in Diamer District.
And Chilas has always acted as a shield for GB, protecting it from Kohistani mess. People in Chilas are different from Kohistani people, they speak Shina. Due to being close to Kohistan it has suffered a lot, even then the area is doing much better than Kohistan.
For those who don't know, Pakistan will soon change status of GB(probably before the completion of CPEC), give it constitutional and political right.
What needs to be done is to devise out a proper plan to tackle extremism in Kohistan region, education is a good start. These disputes are a result of Bhasha dam. Government needs to tackle these small problems.
