As always, victory finds a hundred fathers, but defeat is an orphan.
Game should be played as a game, one has to lose while the other wins. A sportsman enters in field to win by displaying highest standards of sportsman spirit. After losing a match finding lame excuses is bad. However accepting opponent as a better team and an unbiased analysis of the reasons of own defeat and opponent's success is also part of sportsman spirit.
The reason for out defeat or SA success are writing on wall. Pakistani team hardly played as a team (may be the 4th match was team effort to some extent) other wise Pakistan team did not play like a team instead they were individual performances.
Fielding is a clear difference, our team failed to hit stumps whereas SA always got some run outs out of no where thus helped their bowlers.
Their batsmen never threw their wickets but our batsmen were very generous in this aspect.
SA team always saved 20 runs through their fielding in each match whereas we have been giving this much extra, thereby adding a difference of 30-40 runs.
There was no bowling discipline in final match, wicket was bating friendly and true, our bowlers were required to bowl a tight line and length but they offered width to SA batters , those were accepted with thanks.
End of the batter team of the day won and that was SA, our team also displayed good standard of cricket and did not give up. At the end of the day, SA earned victory, it was not presented as a gift.
So IMO there is no need to find dads or orphans.
