Yes you are right. They are not into winning and it looks thats ok for them. As Ntini in commentary said Pak players just playing for their positions in playing eleven.
More than technical, Test cricket is a mind game. Imran Khan with nobodies in Pakistan cricket won games from hopeless positions. Pakistan under Sarfaraz loses from position of victory! Just like First Test against NZ. They were like 143 for 5 chasing 174 yet lost by 3 runs!!!
The mind is not in winning. Its just another day at the office. So what if we dont win. Are we in for next Test!? This is a very worrying aspect.
When team game becomes a selfish game, its time to write its obituary. Pakistan might still have good players but leadership is completely lacking and when leadership in Test cant gel the individuals together, the individuals play selfish. To them, there is no purpose in unity.
Sarfaraz is not a leader who can leade by example. Like Misbah was a leader. He took ownership. He took responsibility.
Whereas Sarfaraz criticized bowlers after losing second Test. Its bowlers which gave Pakistan opportunities. Its batsmen who squandered them. Was it bowlers who squandered second innings opportunity from 101-3 to 190 all out? If bowlers are bowling 2.5 days in a 3.5 day Test match, they will definitely lose steam and vigor. So batters including Sarfaraz need to do a better job and not just lose their wicket playing extremely stupid shot like Sarfaraz does.
