nope
The Motor Sich engine was for the T-929. Turkey is developing its own engine -- TS1400 -- but it won't be for the T-129. Rather, the Turkish engine is for the T-625 and T-629 (the latter being the attack helicopter variant). One downside of the Russian-Ukraine conflict is that Pakistan's T-129 order may get even more delayed. The Turks were looking at a Ukrainian option to replace the Honeywell power plant. Not sure what becomes of the situation now.
The Ukraine situation should be an eye opener for people who argue that there is no point in re-inventing the wheel. The not-reinventing-the-wheel is a strategy to build a system with minimum budget/resources assuming that the components would be available during the lifetime of the project. Pakistan must localize all the knowledge streams (strategic & non-strategic alike) it can get its hands on. The state of industrialization needs to be upgraded nationwide constantly, in top-down manner. The Motor Sich engine was for the T-929. Overall, the lesson here is that we (be it Pakistan, Turkey, etc) can't take any outside supplier for granted. So, while Ukraine might be gone, we can't assume Russia or even China would remain. Granted, those countries will remain suppliers for the foreseeable future, we should be using that lead time to develop homegrown safeties. You never know when our respective interests will clash.
