Pakistan to develop 'advanced MLRS'

Pak produces KRL-122 and has exported it to several countries.

Its ranged and guidance was upgraded, with a bit of help from "NEXTER" ... Or atleast was planned.

Not very exciting when you have :

45 Km Ranged KRL-122

Indigenous development not procurement as per the year book.
Might see a new version of KRL-122.
Anything in excess of 150km?

Another good option from China Weishi SY 400

.
Some member in the past reported that he saw and under developed chassis of tracked MLRS being transported?

Which according to him looked like a TOS 1A

More of a ballistic missile than an MLRS.

Also do you guys care to read what the yearbook says?

Indigenous development.

It also words like "procurement" in other places.

Which makes the distinction pretty clear.

I doubt we are still working on some MRLs most likely we would end up buying

MRLS is very important for Pakistan it is the best way to deliver a successful Nasar strike. If Nasar is fire along a MLRS Rocket barrage the Indian anti- missile defence system would never be able to detect the incoming Nasar strike.
Yes the image you posted is correct.

. . .
So with an accurate and massive MLRS attack, i guess Nasr will become irrelevant.
Nasar was always an immediate remedy for the Cold Start Doctrine not a permanent solution same as US & EUROPE adopted tactical nukes to responded Russian concept of OPERATIONAL MANEUVER GROUP, with the passage of time it appear we are gradually building up the conventional capabilities to counter cold start doctrine, remember India took almost ~15 years to build-up its defence forces as per this concept & practice it number of time with the expenditure of billions of $.

It seems Pak-Army current procurement plan addressing the gaps that exists in our defence structure for example

1- Plans for modernization of existing fleet & procurement of additional tanks
2- Plans to procure Artillery Guns
3- Plans to procure Gunship Helicopters
4- Procurement of Drones with Anti tank missiles
5- Modernization & additional procurement of Air Defence capabilities

All of these are directing in one direction CONVENTIONAL BUILD-UP as per current requirement, these procurement/ developments will cost huge amount of $ & time to us as well, but it is necessary to avoid mutual annihilation; keep in mind NASR will not become IRRELEVANT (let say in 5-10 years) it will just drop its position in the list of relevant responses to any misadventure of India & that too will happen gradually.

okay sir i am just speculating here do you think Ukrainian helicopter engine deal has to do something with this.

cant say that helicopter engine news came to media just once before that we were only aware about the tank engine deal, so should wait some time before to comment but if the helicopter engine news is true then it will eventually open many venues for us ... hope for the best

single most important deterance would be a decent airforce, there is where we are lacking
if we dont have resources that atleast we need thunders in good numbers, and some older f-16s

Ministry of Defence Production reports in its Year Book 2015-16 that DGMP has signed a project for 'Indigenous development of advanced MLRS'.

Another project signed includes the indigenous development & production of MLRS Rockets.

buy HIMARS with ground launch small diameter bombs

this is a game changer for attacking targets in the mountains.

what concerns me the most is why PAF isn't looking for guided cluster munition resembling cbu 105. it can make quick work of armored formations and will be a great weapon to counter cold start at very reasonable price.
