PAKISTAN SHOULD NOT APOLOGISE TO
BANGLADESH ON 1971

(Islamabad considers the issue settled and fully resolved, with the conclusion of the Bangladesh-India-Pakistan Agreement of 9 April 1974)

Afrasiab Mehdi Hashmi
(Former High Commissioner
to Bangladesh)
Pakistan considers Bangladesh, a Muslim brother. This is not a cliché, but a fact. The people of the two countries struggled together for independence from the colonial rule. Both share a common history. Islam is too important to the common man in Bangladesh and to the common man in Pakistan, which resulted in the establishment of Muslim Pakistan in 1947. The All India Muslim League, whose efforts resulted in the creation of Pakistan, was established in Dhaka (1906). Prominent Bengali leader Abdul Hamid Bhashani was so devoted to the cause of Pakistan, that he, in a pamphlet, ‘Achieve Pakistan or Perish,’ at the time of the Partition, underscored (Book ‘Abdul Matin Chaudhury-Trusted Lieutenant of Mohammad Ali Jinnah,’ by Atful Hye Shibly, page 132, published by Juned A. Choudhury, Dhaka - 2011) :

Pakistan is our only demand, History justifies it, Numbers confirm it, Justice claims it, Destiny demands it, Posterity awaits it, Plebiscite verdicts it,
“Let do or die” be the motto of our life, Let us be prepared for any suffering or sacrifice, Let us be prepared to give up our lives if necessary, to “reach
the goal of Pakistan.”
Since its establishment in 1947, Pakistan has had major successes and major failures. 1971 was a major failure. Pakistan has always desired the best of relations with Bangladesh. Pakistan does not have any issues with Bangladesh. Dhaka has outstanding issues with Pakistan, when
Awami League is in power. The Awami League government insists that without the resolution of these, there cannot be any forward movement in the
relations with Pakistan. Foremost is the demand that Pakistan make a formal and an unconditional Apology for what Awami League alleges, is the “genocide of 3 million” Bengalis and rapes of “200,000” Bengali women by the Pakistan Army in East Pakistan in 1971.

would be successfully resisted by the Muslims of Bengal, Muslims of Pakistan and the entire Muslim world. Pakistan wishes Bangladesh well. May the Muslims of Bengal, remain happy forever.

Pakistan’s foreign relations, history and {the spiritual
aspects of} theology.)
Yes they should. All of Bangladesh needs to say 'sorry' to Pakistan Army for joining the infidels. And compensation.

Pakistanis must be really randy or extremely potent in the bedroom department, of the 40,000 odd serving in Bangladesh, each one had raped over 5 bengali women.

how long are these lies going to propagated?

these numbers put our bobs and veganes neighbours to shame

I believe the issue is closed in 1971 , no need to for any more discussion

If Bangladesh needs any assurance , send them fact sheet

Fact 1:
1947 to 1971 , floods in East Pakistan , majority of them were caused by Release of water from India
Check the flood water flow inlets , yep form India

Fact 2:
Floods caused property damage and prevented wealth to build up in East Pakistan

Fact 3 :
West Pakistan , was just slightly better financially due to no flooding

Fact 4 :
After 1965 , war India used the flood as Weapon against East Pakistan

Fact 5:
India attacked East Pakistan , in aftermath of a major Hurricane/Typhoon in East Pakistan

I understand , BBC and other news outlets ran a biased coverage , looking at the quality of their modern news reporting standards , they present a view point in their new which not necessarily reflects ground reality

If any Bangladeshi Friend has doubts , use common sense where the flood comes from , yep India

BBC
The way BBC reported Iraq
The way BBC reported Syria
They way BBC reported Libya

The current Afghanistan situation how BBC reports stuff

:coffee: I can use my head to determine how they must have reported the 1971 crisis

However it is expected from BBC that is how they operate , that is how they have always operated even against Turkey since 1500's

BBC reporting on Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afg etc followed their own govt stance.
In 1971, UK govt stance was in favor of West Pak, so why would BBC defy its own govt?

what was bbc suppose to do . And how could they report it differently when it was quite obvious from the beginning to all, you peoples and your cousins Indians fermented trouble for us Pakistan. BBC government tool never been friend of ours -

Must appreciate, that we had no real allies, whether in 1947-48, or 1965, or 1971, or 1999. We have fought virtually all alone. US and West has, all along, since 1947, played both way with India and Pakistan.

What they did to Pakistanis in East Pakistan even before and after Operation Searchlight is a known fact. My family witnessed all these events and barely escaped death by Muktis and IA. Jessore, Khulna, and other districts where a considerable population of Pakistani Biharis lived were being massacred by Muktis. Many were shown as the massacre of Bengalis by the Pakistan Army. Atrocities were carried out from our side too but not on that scale that is often being shown.
However, mistakes did happen from both sides we didn't give the rights Bengali people deserve but that doesn't mean that apology should be one-sided. The problem with Hasina is that she is still stuck in 1971, but she forgets that it is their own people who killed his family.

We have fought virtually all alone.
Have you ever wondered about the reasons of this loneliness?
Could it be due to flawed internal and external policies?

Or you also think that the entire world is out there to victimise Pakistan?

Read my post again. I have given a mere statement of fact, as I perceive it, in response to a post. I have nowhere expressed the feeling of victimization, complaint, or anything like that, towards any country. Don't make undue presumptions.
