Pakistan may not buy the Chinese VT-4, but the cheaper Ukraine's T-84M or the Russian T-90S tank

You got to differentiate dynamics of relationship between 12000 KM apart allies and allies that share border, benefits, potentials, possibilities and opportunities. USA could never be as helpful as a bordering country like China can be.

For 70 years Pakistan and US have been allies, now that the honeymoon is over we are trying to find any excuse including 12000 km away thing. China being a good neighbor now doesn't equate or guarantee good future relations. I hope the friendship remains intact forever but nothing is forever.

It is rumored that because of the higher price, Pakistan may not buy the Chinese VT-4, but the cheaper Ukraine's T-84M tank or the Russian T-90S tank.

As the Chinese-made VT-4 adopts internationally advanced technology and equipment, the price is relatively high. It is believed that Pakistan will not purchase the Chinese VT-4, but choose the cheaper U-T-84M tank and the Russian T-90S tank. Due to the Ukrainian civil war, the delivery capacity of the Ukrainian tank factory is questionable, so Pakistan may eventually choose the cheaper Russian T-90S tank.

VT-4 tanks and Pakistani Khalid tanks have many shared parts. According to common sense, Pakistan should choose VT-4 tanks. However, considering the current financial situation in Pakistan, it is understandable to choose cheap tanks.

Please.. Al Khalid and VT-4 is actually 1 generation different. In terms of engine layout, they do not share any component.. It is a bad misconception by many.

But I do agree, VT-4 only cons will be the high price tag. But if you want better product. You need to pay more. This is basic rules that will never change.

I would personally go with t99a2
Even its T99A2, PA may not buy due to high price tag. VT-4 is a new generation and best export tank.

Thailand abandon Ukrain tanks and choose China VT-4 tell story itself.
you keep live in your 3 G and 4G world,we China will keep forward to 5G along with Huawei!

Sure but 5G won't run your tanks successfully in deserts, and invent aircraft engines for you. So try doing this first, then sure you can boast all you want on how good your tech is.

I know, and don't really care about that, I often willingly take baits. I am interested in analysis, especially of the geopolitical sort. He presented me with an opportunity to present an analysis thus I did. Sorry if my actions are offensive but I hope there are some that enjoy a mental exercise.

It isn't every day that you are presented with such a daring hypothetical.
Remember this too there is only one counterweight to india and that is pakistan. And No one else

Its not official or credible source.

China and Pakistan share common interests.

As biggest and closest strategic partner Pakistan deserve better then export versions.

Engine tech will come from Ukraine, as Pakistan have signed agreement with them for that.

I agree with that and I personally want great China-Pakistan relations but in the situation presented China has no choice but to change strategy because Pakistan wouldn't want to work with China. It takes two hands to clap. Just extrapolating the situation.

This is a defense forum, we should have the courage to explore interesting rabbit holes. Maybe through creating an environment for greater depth in discourse we can nudge PDF into a source for insightful content. It would be nice to have someone bounce ideas with. Though if this is taking it too far, I can understand and will refrain from such analysis.
Don't worry mate, in time these Chinese will line up as well like the rest. Pakistan would be able to close of CPEC trade route whenever it would want, and the Chinese wouldn't be able do a shi.t about it.

Why would it won't want to work with china?

That was a response to the hypothetical situation proposed by @ARMalik. In his situation, Pakistan would cut off trade with China to make China and Chinese "line up as well like the rest" and that "Chinese wouldn't be able to do a shi.t about it."

Why did you respond to such a baseless and foolish proposition. Look at his flags he is an Australian.

So, what does Pakistan really want to buy from China?
Ztz or t99a2

Waste of time

It is a Free trade world
agree then deal
Disagree then no deal

Pakistan is not short of cash, they have just bought 30 helicopters with much higher unit price
Yes and not from their ally China as they called so closely!

The American running minion Australian is not worth to be discussed with.
