@Irfan Baloch we need a thread on this forum to train 17 years old in how to talk in an adult forum.
I always refrain from writing in aviation so that I dont make a fool of myself due to ignorance. if I do write something I check and recheck it but it seems others have more generous and easy approach towards what they are writing.
it is a tragedy.

by the way, I had few questions about the wing span and I brought up some questions on JF-17 . I learnt that Naval version of F-35 has bigger span. I will talk about it later and will like your opinion.

This is what happens when you talk out of context. If you go through the thread then you would realize what was being discussed.

In short PAF does not have a dedicated Air Superiority Fighter. PN requires a naval attack platform that can effectively control the EEZ. To cover these requirement one has to look towards an aircraft that can out fly the opponents have enough range to effectively petrol and then engage any threat and still mange to fly back to the airbase from where it left because PN does not have any Aircraft Carrier and does not intend to have in future.

Secondly Pakistan should not put all her eggs in one basket (China) and historically PAF has used 2 Western type of aircraft along with 2-3 Chinese Types at all times.

For training as well PAF has always used 2 -3 types out of which 1 has always been western.

Now it is up to decide if my post that you replied to is making sense or not.

The choice PAF has is between J-16 / F-15 and Eurofighter.
J-16 uses the same engines as J-10 and it can be further developed. It would complement both PAF and PN.
F-15 uses the same F-16 engines and is a mature platform and also has stealth features.
Eurofighter uses a different engine but that can be licensed produced in Pakistan if they want. Moreover this platform can be upgraded and there is also possibility that once the Turkish Fighter X is finally mature it would use a variant of the EJ-200 series.

Though there is also a possibility that PAF is looking for the KAI-T-50 Golden Eagle as an option which uses the same engine that powers the F-18's.

JF-17b uses the same engine as Rafale so one might think that PAF would be considering that aircraft as well but this highly unlikely.

It is agreed that all these aircraft would be expensive to operate but it is also agreed that Pakistan's economy is also going to improve in the future. Now is it not possible to afford twin engine fighters?

If one tries to look beyond 2020 then PAF would love to have 2 Chinese types of stealth fighter aircraft. PAF knows that China would be selling F-31's and JF-17 Stealth variant.

But what about the Western fighters replacement?
The option of getting F-35's is still unknown.
Turkish Fighter X is an option.
Korean Fighter X is an option.

It is up to you to decide if you agree or disagree.

@MastanKhan Sir, would you like to say some thing on this subject.

I can be very short. Why fantasize about something when it is unrealistic? The whole discussion is a waste of time. Realistically, Pakistan doesn't have the cash. Neither won't the U.S. and the Europeans sell these fighters to Pakistan over the fear of their tech falling into Chinese hands. At least, that is the excuse the Americans and her allies use for not selling high tech weapons to Pakistan.

Like I said, PAF doesn't have much other options apart from Chinese fighters. Besides, even if it did I would have still opted for J-10b for the reasons mentioned before. I respect your opinion. It is always good to have different ideas.

Hi,

Thank you---.

A simple explanation could be that the naval version would need more lift to take off so slightly larger wings---!!!

Pakistan is clearly hiding defence deals
We normally hide defense deals related to Missile and Nuclear cooperation.....i dont see any logic in hiding if there are deals related to submarine and J10...

No one is hiding nothing.

You don't hide the F16/52 inductions or the recent awcs induction.
J10 will cost serious money.

Something you guys will struggle with as is well documented last decade or so.

very unrealistic thread.

one of many unforunately that are misleading and end in disappointment

agreed...

Only time will tell whether it realistic or not, on the other even big powers like China, Russia and mainly USA may not be able to fully retire 4.5 th gen fighters even after induction of 5th gen fighters, so Pak requires a platform with Aesa. High flight sealing, semi stealth and to be able to bear Medium/heavy loads along with no strings attached. The J10b fulfills all those requirements. Pak even wishes can't even get 18 F16 block 52 immediately from USA and by they way how F16 block 52 is better than J10b without AESA and stealth features like it.
Moreover it may be underrated by us just like ZK03 AWACS which is now performing above expectations after induction. On the other hand Pak needs a capable strike platform to replace its vintage Mirage-III's dedicated for strike roles by PAF. Considering various circumstances F16's of Pak can;t be given strike/bombing role in case of Indo/Pak war scenario.

There are un confirmed reports that even USA may help India in war time to jam our F16s in war time along with sanctions on supply of essential spare parts.

That is not true---our last F16 acquisition was leaked about a month before they were delivered---even though the deal was done a year prior to that.
