The article is from Yahoo, and still comparing to just a couple of years ago when everyone was assuming China couldn't produce a decent jet engine, this achievement is enough being a slap across their face.

Anyone who doubted China is an idiot, if you put enough money and time, you will eventually bridge the gap, though whether they will do it fast enough to where its adversaries have jumped to the next level before China achieves the current level or if China would surpass, is a different question, but both are probably possible given the current trajectory IMO.
