So, moving the discussion forward, here is one practical use case for which it would make sense to leave behind 4 J-10s along with their pilots. The joint development of tactics and doctrine at the CCS. Sure, CCS takes inputs from the exercises, but in order to jointly develop further, the aircrafts along with crew need to be situated together for long periods. It wouldn't come as a surprise if some JF-17s along with pilots are situated somewhere in China as well.
All of this is pure speculation on my part.
