The successful induction and operationalization of the J-10C fighter jets in PAF's fighter fleet and their participation in an international exercise in an unprecedented short span of time is a remarkable achievement.

The feat has been achieved in lines with modernization plan of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, premised on smart inductions and focused indegenization. The participation of these fighter jets in Exercise Shaheen-X marks a significant milestone in PAF's journey towards a technologically advanced and formidable air force.

The rapid acquisition and operationalization of these advanced aircraft showcases PAF's dedication to maintaining a cutting-edge force, capable of meeting evolving challenges and defending Pakistan's airspace with utmost proficiency.

As the Sino-Pak Joint Annual Air Exercise Shaheen-X is in full swing in in the Jiuquan and Yinchuan cities of Northwest China, the exceptional event highlights the dedication and capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force, demonstrating its commitment to fostering mutual learning and collaboration with allied countries.

The Shaheen-X exercise in China provide invaluable opportunities for PAF to build upon its operational experience and exchange knowledge with esteemed counterparts from around the world.

During his visit at the Shaheen-X exercise, Air Marshal Abdul Moeed Khan, Deputy Chief of Air Staff Air Defence, Pakistan Air Force, expressed his admiration for the enthusiasm and dedication exhibited by the PAF contingent participating in the air exercise.

He emphasized the significance of these exercises in achieving common objectives while addressing the evolving dynamics of air warfare in the face of shared security challenges. Deputy Chief of Air Staff Air Defence commended the People’s Liberation Army Air Force on the successful execution of the exercise while further strengthening the existing partnership between the key allies and bolstering interoperability amongst the two Air Forces.

The exercise serve as a platform to foster greater understanding, cooperation, and friendship between Pakistan and its international partners, contributing to regional stability and security. Pakistan Air Force remains dedicated to its mission of safeguarding the skies, strengthening international alliances, and promoting peace through mutual cooperation.
We need J20s to ensure regional peace and stability. With wars on the horizon China needs to ensure Pakistan is equipped for all scenarios.

With the return of participating Pakistani forces to their home country on Tuesday, China and Pakistan successfully wrapped up the Shaheen-X joint air exercise in Northwest China, with observers on Wednesday predicting more military interactions and exchanges that will further deepen pragmatic cooperation between the "Iron Brothers."

The J-10C and JF-17 fighter aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force contingent on Tuesday landed back at an operational air base in Pakistan after successful participation in the joint air exercise in China, the Pakistan Air Force said in a press release on Tuesday.

Aimed at validating interoperability between China and Pakistan in the face of realistic contemporary air combat scenarios, the exercise was a collaborative endeavor that facilitated the exchange of valuable insights and lessons learned, according to the Pakistani press release.

A video attached to the press release highlighted that the Shaheen-X was an operational exercise that deepened brotherhood, created synergy, enhanced professional skills and operational preparedness and shared cultural values.

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force dispatched warplanes including the J-16 fighter jet to the joint exercise, the video showed.

The drill, the 10th edition in the Shaheen exercise series, started on August 28 in Jiuquan, Northwest China's Gansu Province and Yinchuan, Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

In addition to fighters, other types of aircraft such as early warning aircraft and ground equipment, including ground-to-air missile systems, radar installations and communications units, also participated in the drill that practiced typical combat scenarios such as joint air defense and joint countermeasures, according to Xinhua.

The exercise featured advanced warplanes from both sides and formed complete combat systems that stress interoperability, a Chinese military expert who requested anonymity told the Global Times on Wednesday.

The J-16 from the Chinese side is the PLA Air Force's most powerful and all-rounded fighter jet, only second to the stealth-capable J-20, while the J-10C from the Pakistani side is the Pakistan Air Force's most advanced aircraft, the expert said.

Pakistan commissioned the first batch of Chinese-developed J-10Cs in March 2022. They can be interconnected with their Chinese counterparts through the PLA Air Force's KJ-500 early warning aircraft, the expert said.

Fu Qianshao, a Chinese military aviation expert, told the Global Times that the exercise is beneficial to both sides in terms of skills, tactics and interoperability.

The two countries use different training approaches, but at the same time fly the same aircraft, the J-10C, so both sides can learn from each other, Fu said.

Experts anticipate there will be more high-level exchanges, joint exercises among the armies, navies and air forces of the two countries, personnel training, as well as technology cooperation, including arms sales and joint development, in the future.

J20 is not for export just like American f22 may be we will get j35 in future which is export oriented stealth jet

The PAF will ultimately have two mutually exclusive interoperability capabilities: PLAAF and TurAF. And, each comes with its own set of gadgets, doctrines, mind-sets, perceptions etc. It's an achievement way way beyond the PAF's call of duty....

Cry Hindutva cry....

*Today is September 6. Six decades back few young and restless PAF pilots under their forever-young Chief showed to the world what a determined and motivated force can achieve against its 3x larger nemesis.
Love this statement, bro. Thanks.

No it can wait for 5-7 years for now. We haven't decided yet for next gen AC.
I am a fan of Turkish option if it is successful.

Both can happen, remember we have both east & west for every gen of AC.
I'm fan of getting a more potent western system along with J-20's in this way we won't have supply chain issues in case of escalations. Apart from F-35 there's non as of yet.

I hope we don't have dirty harry types in the Air Force.
Not even 50% of him.

Sound decision.

. . .
Note that Pakistani J-10C and JF-17 are receiving tactical information using datalink with Chinese KJ-500.

In case of war with India, they can receive real time updates on Indian air and ground movements from China's ISR assets.

Pretty much all of the rot is in the top army leadership and then some political desks of ISI.

Air Force and Navy doesn't really get involved in this extracurricular stuff much
