anyway , in my view , been a very cheap plane the profit margine of a JF-17 would also be very thin , so ,chinese would have decided to not let that small profit to go away by as commission to pakistan by letting pakistan sell these plane , also , i think china like to first recover the development cost of the plane by selling it by themself only ....

Your idiotic divide tactic reach to a new height, why would Chinese interesting in some fake news that was never published in the so-called China daily source, its better for Indians to discuss some home made fake news among themselves.

Again, please have some self-respect, your cheap provoke and divide tactic is getting old and childish, Chinese have plenty of money in their pocket and is increasing rapidly day by day, please don't mistaken us with your poverty plague country, we don't need to made money in such a cheap manner, grow up please.

China backs Pak moves to safeguard its security

The Chinese leadership has agreed in principle to help Pakistan in its difficulties for bridging the budget deficit and provide soft loan for rescuing its economy. The Chinese leadership has, however, declined to oblige the desire expressed by Islamabad for fiscal assistance. It has told the visiting guests from Pakistan that China, as part of its policy, doesn’t give hard cash as financial assistance to any country.
The Chinese leadership regretted that terrorists were flourishing in various centres and Pakistan had yet to take an effective action to remove such centres. It was an obvious reference/signal about Madrassas.
The Chinese government did not agree with a proposal from Pakistan for selling JF-17 multi-purpose fighter planes produced by Pakistan and China jointly. Pakistan has received offers for the sale of the planes about four times more than what these planes cost Pakistan. The Chinese have asked Pakistan not to sell the planes before the expiry of 10 years of the production of the same.

China backs Pak moves to safeguard its security

The one and only original official join statement from China, here, i don't gave a damn any other so-called source other than the OFFICIAL ONE.

China, Pakistan in security pledge - China.org.cn
China reiterated its respect and support for the efforts of Pakistan in advancing its counter-terrorism strategy and safeguarding its security, a joint statement said Friday.

"The Chinese side recognized the tremendous efforts and the great sacrifice that Pakistan has made in fighting terrorism," said the joint statement issued during Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's visit to China.

The statement said the two sides shared the view that terrorism, separatism and extremism pose serious threats to regional peace, stability and security, reaffirming their resolve to undertake "substantive cooperation" under bilateral and multilateral frameworks, and jointly fight the three forces.

Pakistan reiterated that it would never allow its territory to be used to attack any country and will continue to support international counter-terrorism cooperation, the statement said.

According to the statement, China said it is "firm on the policy of pursuing friendly ties with Pakistan" and Pakistan stressed that pursuing friendship with China is the "bedrock of Pakistan's foreign policy and enjoys national consensus."

The Chinese side expressed appreciation for the longstanding, firm support of Pakistan on issues that concern China's core interests. The Pakistani side appreciated the strong support and selfless assistance of the Chinese government and people for its economic and social development.

"The Chinese side reiterated that it believes Pakistan's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity should be respected and its efforts for promoting peace and stability in South Asia should be recognized and supported," the statement said.

The Pakistani side reiterated its firm commitment to the one-China policy and support for China's reunification, it said.

The statement said the two sides will prioritize intensifying cooperation in infrastructure, energy and agriculture.

Noting the recent progress in mutually-beneficial cooperation in the financial and banking sectors, the statement said the two sides are negotiating a currency swap agreement and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) will soon open branches in Pakistan.

During Gilani's visit to China, the two sides signed three agreements and memoranda of understanding on cooperation in economic assistance, finance and mining.

The two sides reiterated they will continue to enhance mutual trust and cooperation in military and security for peace, security and stability of the two countries and the region.

The two sides also agreed to give further impetus to exchanges and cooperation in maritime security, the statement said.

Gilani arrived in Shanghai for an official visit on Tuesday night and concluded his trip Friday evening.

During the visit, President Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao and top political advisor Jia Qinglin, respectively, met and held talks with him.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan and is also known as a "China-Pakistan Friendship Year."

May seem negative article by Pakistani but raises some eyebrows.

JF-17 blunder: What else you can get for the price of 50 fighter jets?

By Gulraiz Khan
Published: May 21, 2011

KARACHI:
Pakistan is getting a good deal, Defence Minister Ahmad Mukhtar will tell you. Instead of paying $80 million per piece for the American-built F-16s, the JF-17 Thunder fighter jets will cost us about a fourth of that, between $20 and $25 million per piece.

The deal is so good, the minister says, that we’ve ordered 50 of the JF-17s to be delivered in the next six months.

How much would that cost us? Between $1 and $1.25 billion. That doesn’t sound awfully expensive for national defence in itself but how else could we spend about $1.25 billion?

Education

About seven million children in Pakistan are not enrolled in primary schools, according to Pakistan Education Task Force. With $1.25 billion, The Citizen’s Foundation, a private NGO that runs schools for underprivileged children, could educate 1.8 million of them for three years in over 7,000 schools built from scratch. Of course, if it was spent more wisely on already constructed schools, it could possibly resolve Pakistan’s education emergency.

Health

The Saudi government built basic health units at a cost of Rs13 million each in quake-affected a reas. That means instead of 50 fighter jets, we could have 8,173 basic health units, or over 1,400 fully-equipped, 50-bed hospitals.
Infrastructure

Lack of infrastructure – roads, airports, public transit systems – is a serious constraint on Pakistan’s development. Meanwhile, the floods destroyed the already-existing highway network in the country. For $1.25 billion, the National Highway Authority could build approximately 2,500 kilometres of brand new, four-lane highways or 1,250 kms of world-class, six-lane, access controlled motorways. That’s more than three times the length of the famed Islamabad-Lahore motorway.
Of course, it could alternatively be spent on the much-needed Gwadar airport, 13 times over!

And if I were to be selfish and think just about Karachi, it could pay for 80% of the Karachi Circular Railway’s cost, or give the city a modern bus rapid transit network, four times. That’s real splurging.

Power

Each megawatt (MWe) of power produced by a thermal plant costs about $1 million in plant construction etc, on average. $1.25 billion would mean we add an additional 1,250 MWe of electricity to our starved network. Of course, there is no guarantee we’d be able to produce and then use it since lack of electricity is not due to lack of installed generation capacity. But if you’re jingoistic enough, one could also use the 50 fighter jets money for an additional nuclear reactor at Chashma that would produce 340 MWe of electricity.

I cant believe it......Pakistan has financed like 60% of the programe and most of the ideas like the DSI,design and stuff was frm our side.......

But maybe it means tht if china sells the jet Pakistan would get the damn profit from the sales.

Pakistan always falls in romance with the powerful and when they arm twist, they feel helpless. First it was US of A, now it is China. Anyway, hope someday Pakistan will learn its lessons.

Chinese are good planners and they plan 50 years ahead. They are simply "milking" Pakistan. We have failed to understand that today our roads, ports, nuclear, missiles, mitilary hardware, ships, aircraft, dams, irrigation, electric plants and even capital market is almost fully in the hand of chinese. Our small and medium sector industry is dead due to foolish Free trade with china, the worlds cheapest producer. Thousands have lost jobs due to cheap import of everything from toys to automotive from china.

There are NO FRIENDS in international market, only own interest. China is using us to its own economic advantage and like idiots we are playing in their hand shouting friendship.

The Army if fully under people’s control and you will solve 99% of Pakistan’s problems. Right now our self-fish Generals are living in their own worlds, expecting us to treat them like Kings when they’ve done nothing but stolen from the taxpayers and looted Pakistani treasures along puppets in Government.

The pro-US and pro-China forces in Pakistan has already done the most damaged, now we should become self-sufficient and produce ourselves. This Armed forces cant fight American intrusions, its just becoming a burden and very expensive one.

It is just terrible to see so much money being spent on toys for our armed forces. It hurts real bad to imagine how our fellow citizens could have benefited from this valuable money!

I just wish we could learn how to elect our representatives who can make the right decisions for us. Spending Billions for Chinese equipment and making them a super-power at our own costs - Bullocks!

Now soon Pakistan will feel insecure...No more US support & rebuff CHINA..what next Work HARD dears...

Strange thing is, that is the jet had not been allowed to be sold, then why show it off to the world or potential buyers at international exhibitions.

farnbrough air show

Zhuhai air show

and in near future, coming to more air shows.

Plus, its the Chinese company, which has invested half of the amount in its making.

Not a credible news, just the same journalistic intellect which we see from time to time in matters related to defence.

China wants to sell on its terms and to the countries of its choice. That is the real issue.

you lot always draw conclusion to some random news``anyway whatever fills better to you personal agenda and funny national ego`

LCA mark-1 which is failed and not as per IAF requirement will become operational in 2014 and LCA-mark 2 in 2017/18 so even if we start sellin JF-17 in 2018 it won't be a problem and i hope by 2015 WS-13 engine will become part of JF-17.

I will and time will tell. I will let you talk me through how manufacturing industry in Pakistan is squeezed dry with competition from China... Some of the industrial manufacturing hubs of Pakistan is now graveyards of small and medium scale industries.

We learnt it from the Chinese. BTW stopping sale of JF 17s to a country Pakistan wishes to sell is not random news.
