Pakistan buys Chinese subs to counter India 'threats'

6 billion??:what::what:
thought they would cost more like 2 billion?
Yep! It would cost Pakistan a mind boggling $6 billion! Add to this another $6 billion for the nuclear power stations to be built. That comes to a whopping $12 billion!!!! Or PKR 130,000 crores!!

By the way, the $6 billion deal with China to provide the six diesel-electric submarines was abandoned earlier when Pakistan could not provide collateral. With an improving economy Pakistan is now probably set to acquire these subs.

The tragedy with India is that we have the money but the fooking MoD sits on files for years as they know squat about defence requirements. Like the defence secretary was earlier in food processing and textile ministries!!! Jeeez! WTF would he know about defence? But without his 'dhobi mark' nothing can be bought! The defence of the country rests with him and his deputy, who was once in the Environment Ministry!! :omghaha:

But hey! It's really no laughing matter. It sucks! :pissed:

No differences, AIP submarines easily detect noisy nuclear submarines, which is more advantages. Go fix your INS's poor maintenance records by fire accidents. ;)

Oh yes:lol:.Good opinion.A few incidents caused by the age old kilo submarines from Russia gave you so much pleasure. But Indian Navy's purchasing of submarines not going to stop here.It is just a begin.Within few years you can see 3 nuclear submarines in Indian Navy. And production of Scorpene submarines also is in top notch.Indigenous Nuke submarines (about 6)also added in
to these 3 nuke submarines within 12 yearsOk what you know about nuclear submarines? What is Pakistan expertise in nuclear submarine field.?
Friend it is not a troll.Nuclear submarines is a quite advanced technology.you cant imagine that.Other submarines will be a sitting duck in the front of nuclear submarines.

Don't deviate from topic, here it's about the Pakistani subs so please stick to that:pop:

Which are going to be phased out... although they were upgraded as stop gap measure till the new subs arrrrrive...

P.S: how many indian navy subs have AIPs? not even the ones you are looking for will have them... And how many are actually operational?

Noisy nuclear submarines?:omghaha:Go troll about accidents somewhere else.

The last 3 of the scorpenes will have them if DRDO comes with an AIP in time ..... Otherwise French AIP may be selected although there is no confirmation for it right now .

The next batch of subs P75I will also have AIP .

In short none in sight... has the deal been signed? also if you dont mind me asking how many subs are active as of right now?

In actual fact diesel electric submarines are the biggest danger to nuclear submarines and are far quiter. The USN has invested massively in counter measures against such subs but even then are very worried.

Personally the navy should just wait till the economy improves and then mix it up with the 214's and Chinese subs.

Signed?

In 2005, India chose the Scorpène design; purchasing six for US$ 3 billion (US$ 500m per boat). These submarines are to be manufactured under a technology transfer agreement by the state-owned Mazagon Docks in Mumbai and delivered between 2016 and 2021.[10] Construction started on 23 May 2009.[7]

No man , the 6 subs won't cost us this much?
even the U-214 are 500 mil a piece? so how can Chinese be 1 billion per unit?

Let them think, we don't have to explain them. ;)

Whoa what an explanation that was-with P8i & Indigenous SSNs under construction in India Pakistan will definitely need more...And trolling about an accident:lol:

Your SSN's are not even remotely comparable to the USN or any other country that operates SSN's i.e. less technologically advanced and they are very worried about these submarines. P8I's have their work cut out for them.

Pakistan only need to do enough. However the surface fleet is dire and relying on subs alone puts immense pressure on Pakistani sub crews.

Maybe you should look at such events.
