What's new

Pakistan and Kashmir are part and parcel of each other. - COAS Raheel Shareef

A statement has also been given by the FO.. Tht india illegally occupies IOK and is committing attrocities and shouldn't interfere in the internal issues of Pak (relating to elections in Gilgit Baltistan province)..:)

And here we had bharatis on this forum who were jumping up and down on the lame statement of their MEA. :)

Raheel Shareef should mind his own business. He has no business interfering in India's internal affairs. How would Pakistanis react if some minister in India says similar comment on Baluchistan

About time we come to a middle ground or create instability in India to force a middle ground.

By the time passes pakistan become more and more isolated and these are very few recent events

1. Srilankan cancel on arrival visa for pakistan, while srilanka started eVisa facility for Indians
2. Indian and other south asian started BBIN group instead of SAARC group, with out pakistan
3. More foreign investments in India and our PM's warm welcome in all countries
4. Honouring of Indian soldiers in Bangladesh for 1971 war

and much more....

This strategy will boomerang on Pakistan, and no it will not bring India to table but would rather harden India's position. This 1000 cuts is what Pakistan has been doing since 1947, but its effect on India has been minimal given that India's economy is 9 times of Pakistan's and so can absorb lot of instability. If India start doing the same with Pakistan, it will have serious repercussions on Pakistan and its economy.

For the purpose of the argument, GoI considers Gilgit-Baltistan as part of J&K.

Musharraf was willing to do things differently but you have your facts wrong, it was Pakistan that resiled from Musharraf's positions with Gen.Kayani making it clear that he wasn't willing to take on the Islamists- atleast that is the excuse he used. The PPP government too wanted to reopen the negotiations & wanted to walk back on some of Musharraf's positions . 26/11 then happened & the rest is history.

I think you're mistaken, Kiyani was nowhere in the pic when India halted the talks. Islamist was a minor issue in the bigger picture which was to convert the LoC into an IB. Musharraf was willing to do it, GoI backed out of it.

Not mistaken at all. Musharraf got into trouble with the case of the CJI & the lawyer's agitation which caused the Indian PM MMS to put off a Pakistan visit where some agreements were meant to be signed. Post Musharraf, Kayani let it be known that he was pulling back the army's support for Musharraf's plan & the reason he gave was what I stated before. The PPP government also backed off (there were some protests that happened in Kashmir & the PPP & probably the army decided that they could push for more than the Musharraf plan would give). If you are in doubt, you can watch an interview with Jaswant Singh & Musharraf hosted by Tim Sebastian (of hard talk fame) where Jaswant Singh clearly mentioned that the Pakistanis were resiling from their positions. Then 26/11 happened & the talks & discussions went into a limbo, never to recover.

Kashmir is unfinished agenda of partition ... Well said chief ........

Just a typical rhetorical statement for public consumption. Both sides keep doing this despite knowing that LOC is the de-facto border and will remain as such for the foreseeable future.

Military bureaucracies on both sides need to give such jingoistic but hollow statements to justify their expenditures.

Every two months chiefooo makes this statement. But then nothing really happens.
