Pak Suzuki Motor backs liberalised trade with India

This pak suzuki motors should also not bribe to kick out competitors and increase custom on imported cars !!

SM produces a third class tin car and sell it for 0.7 million... bloody suckers
exactly how premier auto and amby used to do for Indians... we opened up the market and see what happened.
Losers who could not compete were closed down, those who could prospered, and Suzuki has to improve their game.

Suzuki still remains number 1 in India, because of a combination of good product range and good customer support.

You get a car like Mehran for 7 lakhs PKR in Pakistan ? Thats close to 4 lakhs INR. You can get these these 3 cars for tht much money in India.

Looks like car/two wheeler companies in Pakistan do milk u guys unnecessarily.

Refer to my post.

in China a toyota corola is sold in 15- 20 lakh n in pak its now 50+ because in China(so do they in yr country.) they produce them locally then here.

.
Kid dont give me lectures i know better. Its yr policy that a company that operates in yr country has to open plants n transfer tech completely so that it depends on local labor costs get lower.
Going by yr logic China is the biggest consumer in the world or at lest in asia so the plants that operate in china should be send to india for manufacturing cars or just import Chinese made japanese cars. But they dont do it.

Anyway im post was the answer to Managing Director of Pak Suzuki Motor Company Mr. Hirofumi Nagao. That they should be allowed to import car parts made in a third country for their better profit margins but they will never allow that country to sell their own domestic company's car here as that will make competition in market n may unsettle their monoply.

The best way to make more profit for them is by manufacturing Cars n their parts domestically in Pakistan. This way locals will get jobs n engineers who flee from country because of lack of jobs will settle here n will benefit the economy.
Its not a policy of govt. Companies start with assembly of parts and then if they find market big enough start manufacturing. Some even dont set up plant themselves, but share with other company.
Its business, each company has to find right strategy.

Kiddo, yes its our policy bcz with sheer size of our market we can afford to have a policy like tht. China-India are not like India-Pakistan. Chinese market is not extremely big when compared to India but it is the case when it comes to India-Pak or India-SL etc. Both Chinese & Indian market forces manufacturers to set up their plants in its territory bcz of demand in these two economies. If u force such law in Pakistan(that of mandatory manufacturing plants in Pakistan for auto sector) then u will be stuck with Mehrans only for coming few decades bcz Pakistani market will take much time to mature along with its economy.

Yr country has very strict policies when it comes investment in india.

1) A company after starting her business is bound to replace its staff with locals with in 3 months i think.

2) After some six months or so they r asked to manufacture them locally n gradually replace its parts imported from outside to domestic build parts.

3) No country is allowed to do business for more then 20 years in india. If their business is well settled domestically then they r asked to do a joint venture with local companies. Like honda has done with Hero group.

1. No. A company sets shop in India for the market or to use cheaper labour. Why would they import labour. But many keep the top management from their own country, like japanese or koreans.
2. No. Companies either exit India if they dont find market lucrative enough, or find ways to make product competitive. One way to do is to use domestic build parts.
3. Stop being funny. Companies start business with JV, not after 20 years. Some segment allow certain % for FDI, in that case you will need a partner. Auto segment does not need anymore.

Where do you get your info from?

There is no such policy about ToT,AFAIK,the taxes on imported cars / CKD s are kept high to promote manufacturing sector.

What utter rubbish ! Where do you get such crazy information?

.
Auto makers have a Monopoly is Pakistan, which is supported by the paid off Govt. Officials and politicians.

If they really needed to have cheaper parts they would have helped to open a company who can supply those parts within Pakistan. Reducing the price of an automobile is considered a sin.

LOL Kiddo then why didnt u gave this very special view to yr country when it was opening foreign investment in 92??

And Chinese market is not Big enough again indian market?
Kid yr supper.

Tell me a very know Chinese company in making cars or bikes??
Its those that u really dont hear much viz a viz japanese companies in car making.

Now Pakistan.

Do u know what is the size of Pakistan?
How much population we have here?
What is the population growth rate?
Even with WOT we have atleast 200 milion people.
We r 5th-6th largest nation in the world.

Our standards cant be compared with Afg, Iran, SL, Nepal, BD.

Entire population of CARS is less then of pak even u can add afganistan.

Going by yr logic so why Saudis have plans in Dammam?
The whole items of proctal and gamble r manufactured there!!

Even the head n Shoulder shampoo bottles come from there to my country n Entire GCC countries+ Rest of ME states.

So if they can open plants for saudia then why cant here??
From here they can export up to CARS+ Afghanistan easily.

India may export to small countries its exports but in Pak its not practical as this is herself a Big country with a big consuming market.

+ The most important thing is by manufacturing their products n their parts domestically in Pakistan. This way locals will get jobs n engineers who flee from country because of lack of jobs will settle here n will benefit the economy.

Standing in yr own feet is vital vital and vital in this 21st century n who knows this better then yr country n China??
This was the reason u n China survived n manage to grow in that period viz a viz Pakistan.

Relying on Foreign investment in this troublesome region is asking to be doomed. This is what we have learnt from our Economic debacle since 2008.

And thats wrong? To secure our own country's future and later thinking about corporates?

Yes its very good thing to do. One must stand on her own feet. This is what i want Pakistani policy makers to do as well.

Just one question then

Who is the CEO of Hero-Honda?

Stop BullShyting here...

1.There is no such restriction of 3 months for foreign companies in India.

2. The reason companies set up manufacturing plants is bcoz there is high duty on CKDs so to make their product competitive in comparision to local manufacturers they need local manufacturing.

3. 100% FDI is allowed in Auto Industry n for ur kind information both Suzuki n Honda now operate alone in India there is no JV.

4. Provide me a link for ur claim that if u can u :)

Just one question then

Who is the CEO of Hero-Honda?

Pawan Munjal :Hero MotoCorp, CEO & it's no longer Hero-Honda :smitten:

.
@Umair Nawaz, auto components companies usually are set up by locals to supply to big companies. Why are pakistanis not setting up auto component farms to supply to suzuki or other car makers.
Market size depends on how many people buy specific product, market size for cars is different from market size for shampoo.
Even within cars, market size for luxury car is different. Many luxury cars are not made in India, as size is considered small.

One thing is certain, your knowledge regarding business is rather poor and you are trying to make up stuff. Try reading from good source, like business specific magazine or newspapers.
