Somehow a new country pop's up after few months showing interest in IP pipeline.What happened to the Iranian's trying to fund this venture...if the answer is the current corrupt government than it might not work with the Russians also.Maybe some someone is playing darts on the world map

They will supply when needed,.... they have helped us in the past during CRUNCH times, and they are a reliable partner than the chinese or americans.... Moreover they are joint produced, so we will open spare supply ourselves... many private companies are investing in aerospace sectors...

Give it to Russians since the bidding process is meaningless and only the one who pays the most bribe will get the contract. Also as per government's own admission no body is interested to finance the pipeline so there is no need to go to bidding process and Russia is the best option. But let's not forget that any agreement with Russia should have the clause that if the pipeline is not completed by 2014, then Russia will pay the fine to Iranians and Pakistanis for failing to finish the contract on time since Russians are notorious for taking over contracts and working very slowly to complete it. Remember Russia was contracted to build Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran and was awarded the contract in 1994, and was scheduled as per the contract to finish it within 5 years by 1999. In reality Russia finished it in 2012, something like 18 years. Also Russians quickly bow to American pressures, as was recently proven when Russia denied giving Iran the defensive system, S-300 despite Iran having paid for it. So the agreement should be written so that if Russia bows to American pressures or fails to complete the project on time, then Russia will be heavily fined.

Iran provides , Russian builds , Pakistan Secures , India and China consume. Who could dare **** up with 5 nuclear powers ?

Nonsense. The US-Pakistan relationship has always been a " Marriage of Convenience " at best ( from both parties ). Now China-Pakistan relationship has always been based on mutual respect and true friendship. We loved China 60 years ago and we still do.

The price is already set by Pakistan itself after initial survey which is 1.2 billion dollars. Russians have agreed to finance it so, Pakistan does not have to pay anything, as Russians will get it back in the form of a small fee per unit of gas delivered over the years. So there is not much to negotiate at all. Just give it to Russians and make sure they build it. They have the will, technology and the money.

I wonder if the pipeline will be extended to India?

If so ONGC Videsh would play a major role in construction.

But i feel Sinopec will get the contract. The chinese would be mad not to grab such a historic project.

Ideally what Pakistan needs to do it

a) Let Russians build the Pipeline and Train our Engineering firms and help finance project
This would also stop American blackmail efforts

> Get Russians involved in Pipeline project Iran and TPI
> Get them involved in power projects electricity with Iran

Finish this step , get our Textile Industry back with Electricity and power restored

b) Give the Pakistan Railways to Chinese firm just hand over operations to Chinese Management 30 year plan - get all the corrupt people out of Pakistan railways and retire people who need to be retired with , 10% Pakistani Management who are assistant to Chinese counter parts

Let them come and do hiring Human Resources, on merit

> They can assist with Engine Maintenance
> Modernization of Locomotives and Boogies to modern standard
> Help Manage and Make Railways profitable
> And Redo all major platforms modernize them
> Train local Pakistani engineers

GET ALL THE VULTURES OUT , hire based on Education and Age , and On Site Test
and bring in New Blood New thinking !!

Cut down the "Worker force" and bring down the numbers , until sustainable profits are achieved

c) Let Chinese firms develop Coal reserves in Sindh province

* 15 year shared profit approach

d) Work with world bank to setup Hydro projects in Rivers

e) Work with deal with Iran to get cheaper rates on Oil , Work with Arab Gulf nations to get
Discounted oil

f) Get 100 Mi-28 helicopters from Russia and Patrol the heck out of Sui Gas line to stop terrorist
who are blowing up the gas line and install CRT cameras with helicopters no jeep will run away

g) Focus Pakistani Government and its assets to fix

In 5 year target -
a) PIA
b) Law and order
c) Police force
d) Get all cars over 15 years old off streets of Pakistan scrap these cars /buses

This is the direction we need to go !!! For prosperity

b) Railways
c) Coal Reserves
d) Desalination Projects
e) Mineral Deposits in Baluchistan region
f) Pakistan needs 2-3 Major Dam construction to store water supplies (MAJOR NEED)

There is ample room for all also China is involved in Iran - Pakistan - China Gas line anyways so they are already involved

All you said are wonderful. But who will decide to do it. We are so lucky and yet so unlucky. If an African country in the middle of desert is poor without electricity and gas, they can say, no body is giving us anything. But Pakistan is offered 10,000 MW of electricity with finance and complete construction of transmission lines and gas pipe line all financed and our leaders only have to say: Yes. But alas, we are so unlucky that our leaders even do not have enough leadership quality to say one word and the result is 180 million people suffer in cold winters and hot summers with stalling economy. The question is who will do it.
