PAF to get hi-tech Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System

One word says it all: "Tejas".

Sorry my friend, you should do better.

I am not saying anything about the availability or prevalence of HMS in IAF or anything like that - I do not know enough to comment upon it. But I would like to advise you to avoid bringing in Tejas until it is operational & inducted.

Sorry my friend, HMS is operational in Tejas, visit Tejas tread to see the live firing of R-73 using the HMS and hitting the target.

I think we should stick to the topic , and discussion on Pakistani plane's upgrade , just surprised we did not get TOT for these however the pilots must have seen great benefits of Technological benefits of new targetting systems

Perhaps I am not clearly seeing the parts where the new technology is visible for targeting and cuing and engagement interfaces

Its quite possible that between 2015-2022 India will update the visors for newer planes and upgrades and that I was also under an impression is the case for on going upgrades or newer planes

Any Indians care to share some imagery with new helmets in case these new assets are already in indian hands ?

Oh my God!! Those planes and those helmets look so antique!

Ok so tell me. Like Tejas, that helmet is also not operational or is it? On which planes that IAF has in operation, actually flying, these helmets are being used?

If Indians want to compare, then please compare the operational with operational, not operational with 'soon-to-be' or 'soon-not-to-be'

JHMCS that PAF has on F-16s are fully operational. The F-16 being upgraded, if I recall correctly will also be able ot use them. So on a fleet of close 100 planes, JHMCS will be operational. It already is on 18 new models PAF has.

You must understand that in majority of HMDS systems is not visibly different from ordinary helmets or please prove if I am wrong.

Different HMDS systems are in service with IAF

Su-30 MKI &MiG-21 "Bison" uses SURA-K HMS, though with the oncoming upgrades,Su-30 MKI will be getting Topsight Helmet sights.

MiG-29 uses Shchel-3UM HMS,and the upgraded variants (some planes have been already upgraded) will be getting Topsight systems.

Jaguars have MK3C/4A HMS,will be upgraded probably with Topsight.

Mirage-2000s and MiG-27s have no Helmet Sights, and Mirage-2000s are being upgraded with Topsight.

Tejas has DASH systems.

With all due respect sir, even though Tejas is yet to be fully operational,it has been inducted to IAF and is a part of IAF.Also it has displayed its Helmet mounted sight capability.

It was you who dragged India into the discussion through post #63,falsely stating that IAF is not equipped with helmet mounted sighting capabilites.

The Mirage 2000 upgrade and the Mig 29 UPG models have the latest Topsight HMCS. The LCA right now is inducted and is waiting for the FOC. So I guess the LCA is the valid post as it's Initial operation is cleared. The Sea Harriers use the Dash III helmet mounted display system.
